How many of you have actually owned an M car?

M cars are definitely something else. You can still get into a decent E9x manual without breaking the bank and has what I feel is the last best BMW M feel thru and thru.

Previously owned or still own the following:
1M x 2
M2 Comp
M2cs
E36 M3
Z3 M-Roadster x 6
Z3 M-Coupe
Z4 M-Coupe
E39 M5
E63 M6

Favorite overall hands down the E39 M5. I have a soft spot for M-roadsters as they are just pure fun.

M cars are certainly special, I highly recommend time behind the wheel. Lots of well cared examples being sold here on the forums or through the BMWCCA - its a bit more of a gamble at dealerships or a bank fund drain with Bring a Trailer.

That being said, there are some deep cut seemingly "run of the mill" non-M cars that provide a great driving and ownership experience as well.

I've had two, the first on was a 1987 M6, loved that car.
The second is my current toy, 2008 Z4MC, love this car even more, it's a pretty special.

Never owned an M myself, but my wife has one of those cute little M2 Competitions.

Still have the zinno and I have a 95 E36 M3 as well. Was looking for a E90 M3 sedan prior to buying my 335i but could not find one that I liked enough.

I've owned one M car, an (EU) E36 M3 3.2, since 2013. Still enjoying it to this day.

Don't fancy any other M car really (unless I become a millionaire). The E36 M3 was always my dreamcar when I grew up. Sporty, yet no sportscar.

In 2006 bought an E36 328i, which was my second top choice. The premium for an M3 was huge and still was in 2006. The 328i is a gem as well and was my daily driver for 12 years. Still own it and is just shy of 300.000km. Apart from the normal wear items, never left me stranded.

In 2013 when I had more income, while at the same time prices of second hand cars dropping, I was able to buy my first M car.

Switches back and forth between the 328i and M3, while 90% the same car, that 10% M sauce makes it so more special. It feels like driving a totally different car.
