TBH it got sidetracked when someone interjected to say he should never have to be offended by anything.

What you don't seem to get is that the term "chinese junk" is not implying that it's junk because chinese people are inferior. China is well known for having a business model where they forego quality and reliability and go for lots of units at small margins.

For the record, covid did come from China and it came from there not because the people are bad or dirty or less-than. It came from there because of the conditions in the wet markets. The problem wasn't caused by a race, but by lack of government oversight and unhealthy conditions. It's absolutely a thing that China needs to fix (this wasn't the first or even the second coronovirus that came from a Chinese wetmarket!) but it's also stupid and ignorant to blame any individual of any race... much less one who is living in the US.

Sometimes a particular government, culture, economy, etc does things that are rightly criticized and that criticism is 100% different than saying or believing that one race is superior to another.

Of course, it's just easier/lazier to thoughtlessly object to everything that could possibly be construed as offensive. But being offended does not mean you're right.

Naw, you may think it came from China but how come the majority of cases came from the US, at one pt 25-33% of all world cases?? To avoid this controversy, let's just assume it started in China, how irresponsible was the States in not controlling it? It's just stupid to believe the narrative but again everyone else is on their 4th, 5th booster for something that only addressed the original strains. Anyway, this is getting way OT so if you wanna start some bashing thread or about the pandemic or whatever, be my guest but not here.

You sidestepped the broader point of my reply. It's possible to hold a country or govt accountable without saying anything about the people from that country. eg, Bad Mexican water isn't racist but if you want to prove you're not racist by your own standard, by all means go drink some.

Your first sentence/para doesn't even make sense.

There's nothing to 'side step' and we can see what each individual country did during the past 2 years. One was bullying and blaming and even hoarding meds even from their supposed allies! ...but ya, just ignore that and blame the bats/wet mkt/lab/etc. Ok, what about the 'Spanish' flu? You don't even know what you're talking about, ignoring lies and believing others. Ya, blame everything on the wet market and totally ignore where the majority of cases were. What you should do is look in the mirror and clean your own house before blaming others.
