my 1969 Datsun Fairlady 2000 Roadster
Here she is my 1969 Datsun 2000 with solex carbs
I have been looking for a driver for a long time, Finally found one with a decent history. The body is in great shape with only very minor rust(no rust in floors or trunk and no rust through on body She runs good and the trans and clutch work great .It is a 2000Cc with 135hp and has the five speed trans . There are new wires , plugs ,altenator , clutch cyl ,battery , carbs rebuilt ,and electronic dist . Blast to drive... Not a BMW, but I thought I would share...

Your car looks GREAT, especially for a car that is almost 40 years old! I always thought those were cool cars when I was a kid, haven't seen one around for a LONG time! Thanks for sharing.

the previous owner was a roadster fanatic, so it lived a pampered life, it isn't a show car by any means, but a great Sunday driver and local show driver. The previous owner has a prestine restored one that his wife drives around town, and he was working on a frame off MG.

Nice. I had a 1600 Roadster. I loved that car and wish I still had it. Great historical racing car.

I used to crew and fabricate parts for a friend who ran a 2000 as a SCCA D Production car for many years on the west coast. Great car, learned a lot about the sport, and started a life long interest. Fantastic find, now go have fun.

The Solex 2000's are 150 hp!
Quote:
The Solex Datsun 2000's are 150 hp, not 135. The dual SU carb version is the one with 135 hp. Quite a coincidence - I just got home today from a 500 mile trip to pick up one of the exact same cars!! It is even the same color!! I had a SU carb version in the 1970's that I bought new in Okinawa when I was in the Air Force. I always regreted selling that car, so I finally replaced it with a great car I found on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...238572865&rd=1 Dick Schneiders |

Wow small world.. congrats on the purchase, I was watching that one on ebay to see what it would go for.. The Solex option form the factory added made a total of 150 hp.mine has Mukini(solex) I doubt it puts out 150. Our colors are similar but mine is origial OEM, your looks to be a nice dark cherry metalic paint, looks to be in great shape. If your not already on www.311s.org I recommend visiting. also look at datsun.org Good Luck

Yes, my 2000 roadster is a repaint
Quote:
Thanks for the link. I had been searching for any forums etc. on the roadsters (that's how I found your initial posting), but hadn't found that one yet. Yes, mine is not the original Spanish Red like yours - the seller told me on the phone prior to my purchase that it was a repainted car. It was originally like yours and he was unable to have it duplicated. I do have a very nice 1991 525i and a 1999 740i and used to be a regular on the dedicated forums for those cars. It was nice to see your posting on the 2000. Dick Schneiders |

Very nice. I had a friend I worked with in the 1980's that had one like this (only silver) as his daily driver. Back then it looked (and ran) like a 10+ year old used car, but it was fun for rides when we went to lunch in it. Yours is much nicer than his ever was and I am sure just as much fun.
