I mute every commercial and mentally make a note to NOT purchase that product.

I know, I know, it's how the channel makes money, but I don't care, I hate them. And worse than that, I hate how the commercials are a higher volume than the program on purpose.

Burn them all.

We use DISH network which comes with the "Hopper" technology. By default, this records every show or news segment, etc. aired in PrimeTime hours. Then, when you watch content later - the tech actually skips the commercials automagically for you! It can also do this for custom recorded content.

Can't watch TV any other way now. The commercials are insufferable and ///MPhatic is right - it's criminal the way the volume is allowed to be louder.

Few streaming options plus antenna for local plus samsung channels. I don't understand how any form of ads are effective these days, don't know what's worse TV or ones on web/apps. But I find sports unbearable to watch not muted, so many ads even during the event and the announcers have to talk non stop.

I did not renew my subscription to MLB.TV this season because every season they show one super annoying commercial during every break, or 18 times per game. I normally watch games on mute because I can't stand the booth guys who talk incessantly the entire game. I can see what's going on, I don't need some talking head to tell me it's a strike when I saw the batter swing and miss. But the damn repeating commercial is unavoidable even if it's muted. What makes the idiots at MLB.TV think you might buy what they're hawking if you see it 18 times every friggin' game for 162 games a year?

And the evening news? It's a 30 minute infomercial for the pharmaceutical industry with short news breaks every now and then. No thanks.

LOL, "the excess fat is not your fault". Sono Bello plus 2 local places, seems like every other commercial late night is one of them. Now theres a ton of botox commercials which are worse. The drug ads late night on samsung channels is either psoriasis or HIV suppression.

There actually used to be a device called MuteMagic that worked by sensing the volume increase on the commercials (beating them at their own game) and muting them for you. It was only $40!!!

Late night TV is just on a samsung anime or car channel, sometimes local channel via HD antenna, its just on while doing other things not gonna pay for ad free local when HD reception is good. Not enough content on prime, netflix, disney+, only add other channels few times a year, to cheap to pay for crap every month when there's nothing to watch. But more than enough on our streams for the kids, adults in the house don't watch that much TV. Really miss DVR that's the only thing cable has going for it.

Yup, this goes for sports too. I'm still a bit surprised and chuckle in those tv/movie threads when I hear ppl say "darn, I don't have Netflix/Apple/Disney/whatevs, guess I can't watch it now, shucks"
