just picked up x1, question on setup
Got my x1 and got my profile established. But every time I go into car I have to manually select my account and enter my pin. And my settings aren't as before. My previous m235 sedan I just entered and all there. I tried to pair my keys from app but had phone and needed to sign into Google and this and that and it failed. Are the keys pairing correctly needed to get this working correctly?

Sounds like your fob isn't linked to your user profile. When we took delivery the CA walked us through that. Did that not happen for you? If not then it can be set it up using the infotainment system.

Complicated set-up process for absolutely no gain...they blew it with ID8...
I traded my '20 X3MC last week for an A4 Audi Allroad Tecknic. Different vehicle clearly, but their version of iDrive is brilliant (MMI)....same features, but Christ is it easy to set-up and use....I think my wife wants to unload her X1 now 😂

Audis are definitely more old tech and easier to get into and use straight away, however imo they are getting a bit tired design wise. Some may see that as a positive or a negative so you pays your money and makes your choice...

Its funny a friend got a new Audi E-Tron and he hates the screen / media, just doesn't thing its intuitive at all. In his words and he wasn't using ID8 mind before that BMW was 'light years' ahead, maybe ID8 has made them go backwards.

Got both fobs to link manually , deep in the system. Also I heard that the digital key not supported by Android only Apple? Maybe that also why I had issues. But good to go now, that fobs linked.

I was told that it takes a Galaxy S23 to work with Android. Not sure if that's correct or not though but it's what my CA said when we took delivery of ours.

From what I read, Digital Key still works with Android, but you'll have to touch it to the door handle and put it in the wireless charger bay to start the car, unless your phone has UWB support built in. And even then I think it's limited to certain phone models, but BMW recently stated that more compatibility will be coming for Android in a future software update.
