I post it every year but I'm not going to stop.

Onboard the GW, out for 2 days running drills. We just had our brief and were heading down to the plant when the first plane struck. It was announced over the 1MC and we were all like, damn, they're really going all out on this drill set.

We then realized it was not a drill and were recalled to the reactor training offices where we watched the 2nd plane and the pentagon live.

The next day we were in NY harbor. The planes on the flight deck were all broken and put up there as a deterrent. I was told we had 2 sea sparrows and 500 rounds of CIWS ammo. We wouldn't have helped much but we were there as a show of force.
