Gentlemen,

Just want to check If you are experiencing issues with any of the functions that require Internet connection and vehicle’s data in MyBMW App:
  • Vehicle’s status on MyBMW App (Mileage, Statistics, Fuel Level, Vehicle Finder, Remote Services - Remote cameras, etc.)
  • Wheather App on iD8, etc.

During a road trip yesterday, My X1 lost connection to the internet services on the road. I though it was caused by the limited reception, but I noticed that the fuel level, trip statistics, mileage, etc. were not synced as well as the vehicle’s location in the App (It still show my X1 on the road)…

I tried to run other services with no success (Remote Cameras, Weather, etc.)

It seems like the vehicle is not able to connect to the BMW servers and send/receive any data or the App is not refreshing the last status.
Not a big issue since the vehicle is 100% functional but I just want to check if this is a general situation, I’m assuming there is a issue with BMW servers in US…

This has happened a few times now for me in the UK. The longest outage experienced so far was a couple of days.

We mainly notice it as a loss of Spotify and RTTI in the car and the status on the My BMW app not refreshing on our phones.

After the call with the Genius, here is the process to reboot the iDrive unit and get this "known bug" fixed:
  1. Start the Engine
  2. Reboot iDrive Unit:
  3. Hold the On/Off Button down (Volumne Knob) for about 30 seconds. (The volume knob is the iDrive power button)
  4. The iDrive screen will turn off and reboot around 25 seconds
  5. Release the power button and wait for iDrive to boot up
  6. On the iDrive, "MENU”
  7. “All Apps”
  8. “System Settings”
  9. “Update apps and services”
  10. “Search for updates” - The vehicle will then undergo a short update
  11. Refresh MyBMW app on the phone

After I did this, everything went back to normal (Vehicle Finder, Weather, Spotify, etc.) I just noticed that the MyBMW app has no record of the trips during the period of time the car was not communicating with the app.

Similar problem, Connected Drive Store says it’s offline, journey data not updated, so tried the suggested reboot. No good.
“Update apps and services” and “Search for updates” says “Function not available” and Connected Drive Store still offline.
