so I was at the dealer today and they gave me a free bottle of BMW fuel cleaner, but
so I was at the dealer today to have the heated seat problem looked at.(my X1 doesn't have heated seats) the tech couldn't seem to figure out why. so they sent me home.
When I was waiting for the valet to bring the car around, the service advisor came over and gave me a tiny bottle of BMW fuel additive/cleaner. Out of instinct, I immediately told her "no, that's alright, I use Cheveon Techron concentrate every now and then...." But she said it was free because she noticed that my X1 had just reached 3,000 miles. She explained that the tech left notes in my paperwork that "due to customer's low number of miles driven, recommend BMW additive every 1000 to 2000 miles" I was told to pour it in when I fill up the car next time. being a suspicious person, I'm wondering if they are just trying to get me started on this thing by offering me a free bottle. apparently it's $12 for this very tiny bottle. it's really tiny, just 3 ounces(!). Took about a second to empty it when I stopped by Costco gas station. |

well, at least I wasn't as "bad" as the 2022 Z4 owner who was getting an oil change on that day. The service advisor said that Z4 reached 12 months old, but only had 100 miles on it. Apparently the owner only drove it for a very short road trip to the beach in the summer and it never left the garage again.
by the way, one day after I poured in the free bottle of BMW additive, my X1 feels like brand new again! (just kidding... I felt absolutely nothing) |

So don't add it...what's the difference. Frankly I've never added anything to any of my cars ever...if you think you need to add this stuff, stick with the brand you're using...who says you need to use their junk
Also...you're located between south america and new zealand...in the middle of the ocean...must be difficult getting around in a car
