Emergency Call Not Available - Telematic Battery
Hello guys,
BMW X1 infotainment system is a big mess ! Yesterday while going back home from work, I turned on the car and received this message on the driver's dashboard 'Emergency Call Not available' and the main screen was completely frozen (No Applecarplay, no AC controls, nothing...) I read some threads about the problem and many users detected telematic battery issues (a battery that is located on the roof panel). However, I tried something else that worked immediately. I opened the trunk and the front bonnet then turned on the car. It was showing that bonnet & trunk were open of course and suddenly when i shut them down while car is still on, the Emergency Call Disfunction message disappeared and everything went back to normal again... Hope this tip is helpful as it was really annoying for me to face these kind of problems with a new car (not even 20K KM ). Other problems which i don't like are notably cabin noise above 130km/h. Another funny one is that infotainment system freezes completely above 185km/h speed (which i tried on German highways of course). |

Similar situation happened today with my wife driving the car (2024 28i X1). When she started the car, the right info screen was blank and the message. "Emergency call malfunction" came up. Driving home the message switched to "Driver Assistance limited". After letting the car sit for about an hour, I starting the car and everything was back to normal...no messages. I checked the car for error codes with a OBD code reader and there were none recorded. So I assume if I took it to the dealer they would find nothing. Any suggestions would be welcome.
