Can we do anything about dealership not replying properly?

I am from London and the sales advisor doesn’t reply to my queries, I am afraid to escalate just not to spoil the relationship with the sales executive.

No replies for available hp, pcp options no replies if I can add the service pack, waiting for my X1 to be delivered in a month or so

"Spoil the relationship" with a dealer that doesn't respond? Sounds like an abusive relationship to me....

I'd contact the dealership management.

if the dealer is not too far away, just walk in and speak with the salesman or the sales manager.

just noticed that you put a Hotmail address under your profile.

most companies will automatically filter out all emails from Hotmail addresses and they go straight to the spam folders. millions of spam emails originate from Hotmail address. millions of spam email also go to Hotmail users. Microsoft doesn't to be doing much about it either way.

if you're emailing them that way, they may not have received your emails?

Any possibility the sales person left the dealership but they forgot to shut down her email address?

This is a good point.

Plus - it's a terrible idea to publish your email address in your profile. Spammers mine the internet for things like this to get you on never-ending spam lists.

If the dealer has an Facebook or twitter account post on it how terrible the service is. If they are any good they will respond and offer help.

Waiting a month not to hear from a dealer is completely unacceptable. Escalate your questions upwards, if you haven’t had a response by the end of tomorrow go up again and if required go in a prepare to get a bit shouty.

We had a few problems with our sales person and they ended up moving us to someone else and they were brilliant in comparison. Don’t be afraid to push, you have spent a small fortune and this should be a fun and enjoyable time not painful.

like I said, if my dealer or salesman did that to me, I would have rolled up on the dealership the next morning.(even if it's a 3-hour drive for me)

(knock on wood) I feel kind of left out these days. Have not received any spam emails or calls in a long time. Am I not spam-worthy anymore? At least I still do get the occasional junk mail in my physical mailbox, thanks to the United States Postal Service!

Thank You for putting it to my notice, I never knew my email id was there (removed it now), I did not email them from hotmail

recently I called the showroom to connect with her as well and they said she would call me back, which she never did! I also informed them, that she might be busy -not replying my emails and checked if they can assign me a different executive. All in vain!

Nice insights and Great Learning

You all made me energetic wow @MontyB1, @KosticKen, @tex2670, @SpaceSilver.X1

here what I would do... give them ONE more chance. If they don't rectify the situation before sundown, name the dealership here or on Google Reviews(or whatever you guys use in the UK). That will help other perspective BMW buyers avoid them.

When ours either didn't respond or gave us the wrong information we reached out to another advisor and told them we didn't want to deal with the first one anymore. They said they had to get permission from their manager, but we were all squared away within a few hours and never dealt with the other one again.

When I've received crap service from a particular salesperson in the past (this was at VW, the BMW dealership has always gone above and beyond here), I asked to speak to the sales manager directly. I was 19 at the time and they likely didn't take me very seriously, as I was purchasing my first car and wanted to pay in cash. I was taken much more seriously by the sales manager and was able to order the car that I wanted, and he generously threw in some additional accessories and some service coupons, as well as assigned me to a new salesperson. Don't be afraid to make a stink within reason, and if they still don't rectify the issue take your business elsewhere. Even if it's a different make of car, I'd much rather have pleasant and competent service with an average car than have a shit experience every time you have to go to the dealership.

I made a point to rub it in the first salespersons face at VW that now he's lost 2 commissions from me when he approached me years later when I was trading in the car I bought to order a new model before going straight in to the salesperson who I actually purchased the car from. Likely would have been a third time but I happened upon a great CPO e92 335i and never looked back lol.

If she doesn’t want the commission I’m sure another rep will gladly take it from her to help you

Par for the course with almost all dealers, for all manufacturers. Any that are good at comms seem to be exceptions. I’ve been in the industry for 30 years and it’s got slowly worse over time, due to the “professional element” having left to get better paid jobs over time

BMW are going to move away from the current commission driven sales into dealers to an agency model. I wonder what effect that is going to have on interaction going forwards...??

I'll probably never buy a Tesla, but I do love how Tesla sells car. It's as easy as ordering a set of spanners from Amazon. (saw my friend do it when she ordered it from Tesla's website. it was delivered to her driveway a couple of months later, all without any human interaction)

I would agree, but the prices need to drop to reflect that a part of the chain isn't taking maybe 8% or more of the overall cost, unless BMW are saying you make a standard 5% and then I take the rest for me to add to profits.

As it stands knowing BMW it will mean worse service and the same costs.

Hi All,

I mailed their customer service and chief marketing officer (got email from LinkedIn) attaching both the email 1 not replied from August (for adding service package) and another from Jan 15 (for Hire Purchase details) yesterday night.

I got a call from the same sales Advisor morning at 930am which I missed and another call 10am

Thank You all for the support…
Delighted that I will get my car in week 8 (the week which commences from 19th Feb)
