Soon to be new owner
Hello all,
Due to various reasons including underground parking size/weight restrictions I’ve ordered a new iX1 eDrive20. Delivery date is late April. I’ve been an Audi owner for many years and I’m new to BMW so I’ve been scouring the forum for info. Is there a way to download the owners manual in advance? Are there other documents that can be shared that I can read in advance so I know more about the car once it’s arrived? Thanks |

You should be able to download and read the owners manual via this link (you’ll need your car’s VIN)

So... on delivery day, I knew how 90% of the things worked on the X1. (except remote engine start, which my salesman and I couldn't figure out.. until the actual BMW Genius came over and showed us how to activate it in the climate control settings.... it came from the factory in deactivated state) |

I haven't gone through the manual but the actual car settings were pretty clear. I just spent an hour going through each setting in the car. Make sure keys are set up, make sure you have drive assists active, etc. You can watch a couple of YouTube videos for x1 features but it wasn't worth reading the manual, imo.

If you google “ bmw ix1 vin number” you will get some hits. That will allow you to download the iX1 manual into the BMW Guide app.
Given it’s publicly available information that you can see in any iX1’s windscreen, I can’t see an issue in using it to download a manual. |
