Hi all,

Just picked up a Maybach the other and it comes with high performance summer tires. Here’s the current tire and wheel set up on the car from factory:

285/40R23 on 9.5 J x 23 ET 47 (Front)
325/35R23 on 11.5 J x 23 ET 49.5 (Rear)

I’m looking to change it to an all season setup with the current rims and no tire manufacturer makes 325/35R23(rear wheels) all season tires. The closet thing to it are the Pirelli scorpion zero all season tire, which offer 285/40R23 and 325/30R23 tire.

Can I put 285/40R23 or 325/30R23 tires on 11.5J x23 ET wheels(rear wheels)? And would there be any issues with the car if we do that(safety wise)?

As an all wheel drive vehicle one wants the same diameter* tire all the way around so the 325/30R23 is not workable it is a smaller diameter.

285/40R23 wheel width is 9.5-11" so no it should not be put on a 11.5" wheel.

*same diameter or within a percent, with the rear tires being slightly taller.

You need ask Mercedes/Maybach if they have a winter tire package for your car. Like the previous post said, having different diameter tires will screw up your AWD system.

Most likely OP is asking here because the MB forum, like Audi World forum, are complete crap. I made the mistake of owning an Audi recently and never again. The dealer support, online support, and enthusiast network is utter garbage with MB and Audi.

OP, get a winter wheel package if your goal is to drive it year-round. But if you choose the all-season route, like everyone has said, you have to make sure that the diameters match up it's perfectly as possible.

It’s 100% true about MB forums. I own rare 09 E63 wagon and it’s pretty dead there other than E55 owners bragging about horsepower their engines can handle than bitching about smaller diameter pulleys taking a dump and supercharger belt slippage. If I want to know anything I usually use C63 forum that seems to be only one useful since those guys love their small M156 powered cars. Other than that it’s quite dead there at least in comparison to this one. Such a shame.

So I was curious how bad the options are at the 23" size, and it's bad. You have exactly 2 all-season options at the 285/40/R23 size, but no matching option at the rear as you've seen. Then, you have 0 all season options at all at the 325/35/R23 size - if you go to a 305/40/R23, you do get 1 all-season option, but this tire doesn't have a matching 285/40/R23 tire. That's all a long winded way to say you're kinda screwed whether you go all-season or winter (which there are 0 options as well).

I can't imagine the GLS600 couldn't fit 22" wheels, which would exponentially expand your tire options, e.g. 325/35/R23 -> 325/40/R22 and 285/40/R23 -> 285/45/R22.

When one has a penis-enhancement automobile and they get bent, that is called a Peyronie's disease.

For the OP, given the few choices you might look at a second set of wheels with a smaller diameter that is a square set up. For winter, a slightly narrower tire with more side wall is not atypical.
