Coolant leakage
Hello everyone,
hope everything is fine and you're enjoying your X1/X2 machines ;-) Unfortunately, my X1 25e it's stopped at dealer's workshop due to a coolant leakage (received the warning on the dashboard and when checking was necessary to add more than 0,5L of water to continue my trip), apparently, due to a defective pump (or something similar)! Dealer is now waiting for the replacement part, that will take up to 8 days… All this mess on a brand new car with 1 month/1200Km!!! Anyone else with the same bad experience with the Product? Or I’m just unlucky? Thank you so much. Last edited by BavieraPowerRider; 02-21-2024 at 07:17 AM.. |

I think you might just be unlucky, of all the issues that have arisen on these cars this is the first time I have heard of this particular problem.

So, I'm really the only unlucky guy with this annoying failure?!
Based on the feedback received from the workshop responsible, the problem comes from the coolant circulation pump! That needs to be replaced (still waiting for the part to come)... Really hard to believe on such failure for a brand new car :-( |

Its terrible, but these things happen. I remember a new VW Tiguan (the then new Mark 2 model) that I purchased in 2016. Got 7 miles before the transmission failed having waited over 5 months for the car (which was a long time in those days). Took 9 days to fix as the model was so new, they had no spares anywhere in Europe and in the end, took a car off the production line to give me that car's transmission. However, dealer did give me some things in compensation like free use of one of their demonstrator vehicles while mine was being repaired and activated some of the services which were extra that I hadn't subscribed for (voice activation being one, I recall - think I also got a full set of rubber mats as well).
I assume in your case, the part itself was faulty (if it was a design fault, there would be more examples of its failure). Not fair, but better it happens now while the car is new than say, in 6 months where they start arguing its wear and tear. Make sure you get some sort of compensation as well. |
