Help me decide X1 30e or 23d
Hi all, I'm in the process of trading my 2020 320d Sport Pro for a 2023 X1 23d which I cannot pick up yet due to the BMW delivery block while they sort out the issue with the brake regeneration fault.
This means I've spend more hours of my life watching YouTube reviews of the X1 and I'm wondering if I would be better off opting for the 30e model instead of the diesel. My regular drive from my home is 45 miles and at my destination I am unable to charge the car, so a 90 mile round trip before I can recharge the battery. What put me off the hybrid before was thinking the battery would be empty before I completed my round trip. Was that a wrong assumption? What could I expect in terms of range before I had to stop and charge up the car? I'd really appreciate any advice with this before I collect the log burner. Thanks. |

On the PHEV you can input your destination as you home address and add you workplace as a stop then the car will determine the when to use the battery or the petrol so there will always be some left in the battery, bare in mind that this only works if you use the nav.
I assume you are able to charge at home? If not then the 23i or the 23d would be the way to go as the cost of public charging would be extortionate. |

Thanks, that's helpful to understand. I'm normally away from home during the week so would have to rely on public charging a fair amount. Looks like the 23d is probably the better option for me.

I agree if you are not able to charge at home, the PHEV is only able to charge at 7.4kwh so it takes around 2 hours on a 7kw charger. Hope you enjoy the 23d when you eventually get it.
