Multiple sand scratches on the front bumper

Hello folks!

I really enjoy my space silver x1. However, after today’s car wash I noticed that the front bumper has multiple (more that 10) small sand scratches. See photos for some examples.

Since, my current range is just a little but below 5k kilometres, I don’t believe that it should be that way. Plus, I didn’t drive on bad roads or in dusty weather. Austrian roads are not perfect, but don’t think they should harm it so badly. Even our 7-years old Audi does not have so many scratches. Do you think I should complain to my dealership and ask to fix this?

Umm...nope. Not a warranty issue. Mine is covered with these little nicks and I have full PPF coverage. No dealer ever will warranty this...ever

I thought PPF was supposed to prevent these? Or were the rock so big that they penetrated the PPF?

I was cleaning the windshield glass yesterday. I counted at least 8 tiny dings to the glass. All were the size of a gran of sand, but noticeable when it's sunny outside. I almost considered getting the windshield protection film, but the installer talked me out of it.

Ppf doesn't guarantee anything...simply mitigates. I drive some nasty highways between here & Québec...lots of truck throwing up rocks & sand...they don't use salt on the roads in Québec, only sand. Brutal on front ends...PPF helps keep it in check

I keep forgetting that you're in Canada. Much nicer country , but not the best roads(snow, salt, rocks, etc)
