Finally reached 5,000 miles this evening, almost exactly 10 months since delivery.

Finally reached 5,000 miles this evening, almost exactly 10 months since delivery.(2 days shy of the 10-month anniversary) I had just stopped in front of 7-Eleven and noticed the mileage.

Yes, I tried to drive as much as I could... Not sure what happened. I managed to put on 15000 and 19000 miles during the first 12 months on my previous two cars.

Although... technically, I only drove the X1 for 4992 miles, since the odometer had 8 miles when I took delivery.

Didn't you post that you only put around 25 miles a MONTH on the vehicle...so, begs the question how you managed 5,000 miles after 10 months...more like 500 miles per month...I'm guessing a typo on the other post

that's an easy one... there were a few months that it only saw 25 to 50 miles... then some months with 1000 miles or 1200 miles. (don't ask me how math works)

that reminds me.... the "My Trips" in the BMW app is kind of useless. It somehow lost all of my trip data for 2023. In January, it showed the average data for 2023 in review... but then all the data disappeared a couple of weeks ago.

Ah, ok. So not really 25 miles a month...makes more sense.

Yes, the app is generally crap

The probabilities are very high that my X1 will only see 5 to 10 miles during the months of April and/or May. (depending how fast the ships cross the Atlantic)

Nice.

I don't expect to hit 5000 miles on my X1 for another 2-3 years. I'm just over a whopping 600 now since November. Once the snow is gone and the roads are swept, my driving will pretty much all be in the M2...which only has 15.5K of which a third was driving it out to AK from NYC back when I got her in 2018. I think I drive less in Alaska than I did living in NYC.

I will have had my X1 for one year in a few days time. I've clocked-up 16,120 miles so far.

I'd like to say they've been trouble-free miles but it hasn't - had a complete new gearbox fitted early January (it was off the road for a month prior to that waiitng for parts) so my mileage would have been higher still if it wasn't for that 'blip'.

My trips has never worked since day one, but to be honest I have managed for decades without such data and can’t say it bothers me!

sounds like you need to take a long road trip to somewhere warm! how about Anchorage to Chicago(where it's expected to be a chilly 76 degrees today... breaking a 50-year record)

I was supposed to do performance center delivery in SC and then epic break in road trip back to Anchorage, but they totally screwed me on available delivery dates. I ended up having to take delivery in Anchorage. So many amazing breweries in the middle of nowhere Canada along the Alcan I didn't get to visit again.
