Hey all - I'm considering closing on this 2017 X6M from a dealer in Lynnwood, WA called Quality Auto Center.
The car has 1 owner, 34k miles and was originally imported from Vancouver and has been converted from Canada to US spec. I'm trying to do as much due diligence from a distance as possible (I'm in NY). The dealer is completely fine with me getting a PPI anywhere I want so I picked a local auto mechanic that works on BMWs. Would appreciate anyone's feedback here. One thing I noticed was a gap in service history between 2017 and 2021. Is that odd? Or is it possible the service wasn't reported? See if they will give you the BMW Seattle service record. I would recommend Car Tender to do the PPI.

Jump on over to the X5/X6 board and ask them....
Is the front tire/wheel really a 20 with 21's on the back? |

The three OEM wheel sizes I could find were two 20” square setups and one 21” square setup. No 20/21 staggered setups. The OEM 612M wheels are 21” square and they are bi-colored, not all black. I’m not a X6M expert but it’s highly likely the wheels are reps.

Coming from Canada, all season tires probably makes sense. Only way you could drive the vehicle all year round.

Agree that other X6 owners might know more. Seems on ebay that solid black 612m wheels do exist, and are labeled as fitting, and so maybe it was an option? Also the dealer's website might simply be wrong, if you're serious about the car I might suggest having them verify.
Gap in service is interesting. Those years would mostly be free years so you'd think it would be done. I can't see people skipping free service on a new car, or DIY'ing it. |

I confirmed via photos that the car is set up on 20" all around. It was just a typo in the listing.

Unless you fix your own cars, my belief is that if you can't afford it new, you can't afford it used.

OP: echo the sentiments on the wheels but if the PPI checks out and service records are intact who cares. I almost always change wheels straightaway regardless.

This makes no sense. First, how does whether you can fix your own cars have to do with whether you can afford buying the car new or used? Second, there’s a large percentage of people who prefer not to buy new because they don’t want to take the immediate 20-25% depreciation hit when buying a new car. So how does not buying a new car show/prove someone can’t buy it used? Personally, I prefer buying new but that’s just me.
