Agree with running style. I was a heel striker for 95% of my running career. Then I had hip discomfort bad enough to force me to change to a mid-forefoot striker. I have either bursitis, a damaged labrum, or both. Heel striking means all impact goes straight into the hip joint, and is not absorbed by quad, hamstring and calf action.

The style change made a big improvement in speed/efficiency and comfort. But the damage was done to my hips after 20 years of poor form. I stopped running and switched to biking, hiking and swimming.

Running form is a big deal! I forgot to mention previously, I was a heavy heel striker and over strider, working on landing made a pretty significant difference. It took awhile to break the muscle memory to run with more cadence and with more of a forefoot landing.

Been a big fan of the Mizuno Wave Rider Knit. They just introduced a couple years ago and with arthritis in my big toe, the knit upper is nice and roomy but great shoe. Typically do 15-20 miles a week in them. Only compliant, and not sure if the shoe or me, as have been in these for the last 4-5 pairs is I eat the liner up in the heel of both, but some moleskin and duck tape patch it upon

Interested to hear what people are running in these days. Currently I have my go to Pegasus 39s and rotate in Hoka Mach 5s. I just bought a pair of Adidas Boston 12s as I have heard really good things. Prior to this past week, as I am experiencing Achilles Tendonitus for the first time it seems, I was doing around 30-40miles/week. The Mach 5s are good, but they are by no means durable. The sole wears very quick. The Pegasus 39s have been great. I opted to skip the 40s I heard mediocre reviews. Can’t wait for the 41s to come out.

I use strictly Mach 5s for training. I use Endorphin pros for racing. I am only at moderate weekly mileage now at around 50-55 miles a week but will start ramping to 80 plus in the coming month.

Puma Magnify Nitro 2. Very good and that's coming from a Saucony Endorphin Speed 3 fan.

I’m around 25 miles per week at the moment. I rotate between Saucony Endorphin Speed 2 and Speed Shift 3 for training. I really enjoy the Speed 2’s but the soles don’t last too long.

Lordy, I have been a NB user since the mid-90s. Have gone to several "shoe clinics" and when they crunch all the info, I always end up with the NB 900 series on top of my list. I run in them for about 350 miles, then use them to walk in them as recommended by my foot doctors who stated: "them shoes are expensive, no reason why you cant use them as walking shoes afterwards". Ha, she was right, I've had no issues.

After about 300, mine become my weekend gardening/outside shoes. That's when I stand the longest in a day, so having nicer shoes helps.

Very nice! When i saw your previous post talking about doing 50-55 weekly miles and planning to go into 80s, i'm like wow this guy sounds very fast and indeed you are! keep up the good work. I'm doing Boston Marathon in 10 days. It's my first one. I'm no where near your speed but hoping to finish in 3:30

Same handle on Strava? I'm more on there. Not very active on x. I've been running for a long time but just got more serious and racing over the last year. did a few halves last year. I'll be running Boston on the Nike Alphafly 3s . My goal is to get to sub 3 marathon time within the next couple years. Now, my high mileages are 50s, but I'll be climbing into 70-80s for my fall marathon. I definitely want to connect.

Here's my strava, looking forward to connecting. 70-80 miles will help a lot if structured right for sure to get that 3 hour mark.
