Yes, received the letter yesterday. I have a 2.3i MSport bought in October 2022. I guess we just sit tight and await the further letter/contact from BMW once parts are available.

I have not had any of the warnings come up, I took the car in at the end of Feb for a 1 year inspection and to get front and rear light recalls done, the brake issue was flagged up on the system as well and that was for the dealer to check the system which was all ok. I believe they are replacing the module to be sure.

dropped off my x1 for its first servicing this morning...showed 2 recalls on their large express check in computer which their greeter completed for me.

1) to check for gap(s) between the body and headlights *and* the body and taillights (have you heard of this campaign?)

2) as for the integrated brake recall, the advisor showed me that they don't have a fix for it as of now... to just wait for a flyer in the mail to arrive when the problem can be resolved/corrected with the remedy.

I received the letter yesterday in Australia. X1 20i built 25 July 2022. Haven’t had any issues with the braking system yet.

If only they would issue a recall to fix the start stop …..

got basically the same things done yesterday: oil change, program control unit recall... the brake thing will have to wait until the dealer gets instructions from BMW. the dealer also performed courtesy tire balance and rotation using their post card coupon.

they also updated the software to 03/2024.37 without telling me. If you get the same new software update, can you tell me if you notice what's new about it? (note: it will reset some settings back to factory default, even after logging in with BMW acct)

I got the recall notice yesterday for my X1 20i. There are 7157 vehicles in Australia that are affected by this recall campaign. Affected models are 520i, 740i, i5, i7, iX1, X1, X5, X6, X7, XM between 2022 and 2023.

will this recall require replacement of hardware? or will the fix be in the software only? thanks!

According to the earlier discussion it's hardware (and possibly software).

I’m a little concerned about people saying they don’t have a fix yet. I got the recall fixed on March 22nd. Actually made the appointment for something else but they updated my appointment to include the recall since it had just been made public. Even shows on my service receipt that they replaced the integrated braking system module. So either my dealer is the only one with parts, or they replaced mine with an old one that will fail. Hopefully the former lol

Because so many vehicles are affected, BMW are on back order for the parts. So it looks like you got very lucky and were one of the first to get it fixed! I went to BMW end of March and they’ve placed the order for the parts. Still no update about availability. They say it could take a while!

Update - service department said they are doing an inspection only. Also said all the cars they've checked so far have been okay.

Sounds like if they find a fault, it will be taken off the road! Fingers crossed....

I had mine inspected in February while it was in for something else and everything was ok on inspection, then 2 or 3 weeks later I got the notice and was told BMW are replacing the module and it was ok to use the car unless I get the warning on the dash.

Was that for 0034670200? Ours went in for "1STOP024983 - FX GX Intergrated Breaking System" back in February so assumed two separate brake issues.

According to the dealer it was for 0034670200, it showed up on their system as that. They said it was ok, as I said before I got the notice a couple of weeks later and spoke to dealer about it already being checked previously with nothing found. That’s when they told me BMW were replacing all affected vehicles that are fitted with a certain (can’t remember name) manufacturers module.

Ignore that, I have just found paperwork and it was indeed for 24983. Obviously there was some confusion between myself and the dealer.

So, got the car back and they confirmed it needed parts replacing. But they don't have them!

Just got issued with an additional letter stating pretty much the same as the first one but adding they will need to book in again when the parts are available.

Essentially, it looks like all is well unless you get the 'Check Control' message.

srbs73 are you noticing any issues day to day? My iX1 isn't part of the recall it seems, yet I do notice from time to time that the regen braking whilst in B 'skips', in that it will momentarily appear I've either cancelled it or blipped the accelerator before resuming. Lasts half a second, if that...

EDIT - pretty much how you summed it up in one of the other threads "the sensation that you've slipped off the brake and touched the accelerator for a second. You get that sensation that the car is running away from you"

I haven't driven the iX1 so much since it went in for the first fix and software upgrade so not sure if it's got better, but definitely beforehand. I will ask the wife later as she'd experienced it too.

She can't recall it happening since it went in back in Feb. It wasn't getting OTA updates so they updated it from 03/2023 to 11/2023 and I'm wondering if that resolved it. Seemed like it could be the transition from regen to actual physical braking wasn't optimal.

Have you received 11/2023 yet?
