I work from home and have a second car, so neither gets driven a lot. So I’ve started regularly using Deep Sleep (with alarm) on the X1 when parked at home to reduce battery drain.
So far it has behaved as expected, in that you need to unlock it with the hatch button because the other sensors are off. But no issues, normal behavior after that. Update: I’ve noticed that when in Deep Sleep, it will actually unlock from the drivers door handle sensor as well. (Not having to use the hatch as doc says.) With maybe an additional fraction of a second delay, due to the sensors to detect my key fob perhaps waking up? Nice to not have to wake up the car with the hatch button when I don’t need to open it. The point is that since my post of 6.11.2023 when it was showing up to 12 weeks, it has decreased after the software update to now say up to 8 weeks (with just the anti theft alarm activated). |

Went on vaca for 2 weeks and used deep sleep. It worked as expected.
Yes my M35i is electronically complex but I think this battery is very low capacity. There is another thread on this site about the battery and charging. It is a calcium lithium battery and requires a high charging voltage to properly charge. |
