This is very true. Lots of average drivers even don't know how to hold the steering wheels in a proper way

LFB is useful to me not only on quick roads but in town traffic. When the creep mode on the car is not enough to catch up as traffic moves on, like for instance on London's Edgware Road, then the feet stay in place, I call it my comfort mode and you can always go back to the other way and use the right foot for braking.

For a newbie to LFB (if the pedals allow it easily with the spacing) it may be a difficult switch but once mastered getting the feel for it then they'll wonder how they did without it.

Totally agree. It bring you to the next level of driving (safer, faster and total enjoyment). However I stronger recommend you only practice/learning on roads that have no cars or on track. It take a long time to get comfortable with it because you have to re-learn what you learnt. Don't give up.

The average driver does not have enough to skill to drive a manual, (or brake, or corner) anywhere near what is needed for high performance driving. Add in left foot braking and that changes to almost no one.
With that said, to drive at the higher levels of racing and to be competitive, left foot braking is essential. |

+1!!! This is by far the best thing I have gotten from attending BMW driving events!! I love it!! I’m hoping they are back to it when I go next month. With the pandemic they went to using radios and it is nowhere nearly as effective. The two biggest lessons. Always looking up and down the road and you steer where you are looking. Look where you want to go. If you start sliding toward something and you focus on that something you WILL hit it. Look where you want to go and your hands on the steering wheel will follow.

I found in my few experiences on the track that driving fast is a real skill that can’t easily be learned. You better have great reflexes and hand eye coordination because everything happens so fast. I drove nascar in Delaware and Vegas. I was very excited that I finished near the top of the class because we didn’t get much instruction. I still remember the apex of the turn being an area of focus.

Yes, the words that echo in my head and that I appreciate the most about having an instructor sitting next to me are “brake, brake, brake” as we approach and enter the turns.
