I think it's time for a separate forum for FWD 1-series. Maybe with the MINIs?

Here you are: https://f44.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=821. And no, it's not the second generation as stated in the forum name, it's the third and this thread is abouth the fourth (don't overlook the "Model Selection" menu above, next to the Bimmerpost home page link).

I don't like the new design language on numerous cars with the wraparound headlamps. That's what makes this car look like a Kia/Ford copy.

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

I do prefer the headlights of the previous gen which were slightly bigger and more aggressive looking (but went just as far back). |

Awd and 300HP...great!
How much does it weigh...? What are the kids doing with this engine via boost improvements? If it weighed 3200pds and was easily tuned to 350hp I would be interested...in spite of the no coupe option...wait no manual? Never mind. |

They're still effing with the front kidney grille. And the Hofmeister Kink as well.

I don't think they have any buttons left to get rid of on that one. Not a single button on the dash.
And, its an M1 or an M135? Because I thought BMW's new design language was that only true M's got horizontal grille slats and the M-sports have been promoted to double vertical old school M slat grilles.

My first BMW was a 318ti (http://www.318ti.org/gallery-old/koral/index.html), sold in 2010: https://318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=29673
Drove a manual E46 touring for a year before making way for an E82 1-series (135i). Still miss the diminutive size of the E82 compared to F87. Can't imagine buying anything larger as a daily driver coupe. F87 is a tight fit in my garage, I would probably have to fold the mirrors to fit a G87. |
