BMW x1 2023 Reversing/fog lights problem
When I reverse I only get the reverse light turning on on the LHS, from within the tiny silver strip
When I turn on the fog lights, it only turns on the light on the RHS, from within the tiny silver strip I was wondering if this is standard or it's something wrong with my car? |

My MY24 X1 28i shows both reverse lights when reversing. I didn't know there where fog lights available (unless that's an added option or country specific?).

Rear fog lights are not included/enabled by default on US cars. Depending on the car it could be as simple as replacing or modifying the headlight switch, coding in the option, or might have to go as far as replacing the tail lamp assembly with one from another country.

I figured it was country specific. On my 2014 X1, the fog light was already wired in and I just had to break off a tab on the dash switch to magically add the fog light capability.

Spec dependant
Hi after our very helpful local BMW dealership investigated this issue for us, the answer is it depends on the particular X1 model. If you have a iX1 or a plug in hybrid x1, they come with both reversing lights activated. If however you have a mild hybrid 23i petrol like us, only the near side (left hand side) reversing light is activated.
How mad is that? So the obvious question now is how do we get the other reversing light activated? Would love to hear the answer and I hope someone more knowledgable than me can let me know! All the best Peter |

I have a normal xdrive 23D (led matrix lights) and both reversing lights come on. I would think that it's dependant if you have the matrix light option or not
