Tel Mute Pin #10 X13812 does not work
Hoping someone can help,
I need to be able to mute my CCC at will, in my E71. I attach some posts I found online ... https://www.e60-forum.de/forum/index...353#post411353 https://5series.net/forums/diy-do-yo...e2/#post968671 ...and a diagram of my FAKRA plug at the back of my CCC head unit. This afternoon, I measured the voltage of this pin at 4.85v (pin #10 in the X13812 connector). I then connected the pin to the chassis but no muting occurred. I then connected the pin to the center of my cigarette lighter but no muting occurred either. Anyone knows how to get this working? PS. A. Is it possible that the pin has to connect via FAKRA to the amp? If so, then grounding only the pin itself will amount to nothing. If so, then where should this pin connect to, before I ground it? B. My E71 has a factory phone cradle in the armrest compartment. I conclude that this pin is not related to the phone cradle since no wire connects to the pin. C. My OEM FAKRA plug does not have a wire going to this pin. To connect to this pin I used the harness of an Android head unit which has this wire in place. NEW INFO:
I found this diagram: https://5series.net/forums/e60-e61-p...s-jump-152311/ It shows the CCC & the X13812 with pin#10 BLK/VIO, going all the way across, but does not show where it terminates. Can someone please chime in and solve this riddle? PS. These guys managed to use the 'Phone Mute' pin in BMW e46 2002. (not CCC but similar concept) https://www.rdforum.org/threads/6542/ Last edited by conandrum; 03-03-2024 at 08:05 PM.. |

This guy in his E60, with the same FAKRA as the E71 CCC, utilised the 'radio mute' pin with a parrot 3100.

TCU mute to CCC?
I found a quote here:
https://www.bimmerfest.com/threads/s...nsors.1296895/ "Here is the wiring diagram for the TCU (Telematics Control Module) that controls telephone calls via bluetooth connection with your cell phone, or the emergency service (SOS) calls to BMW Assistance. You will note that there is a "Mute" connection from the TCU to the Radio (N9), Pin #10 of Connector X13812. https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/...ectors/connectors-from-x4/x4553-x4553/oMvixPX" Of course the diagram is long gone. Can anyone help please? |

I checked with NCS DUMMY and found the following: MODULE : CIC SECTION : AUDIO_TUNER_TRAFFIC - Audio tuner traffic messages SUBSECTION : MUTE_PIN_BEHAVIOUR OPTIONS : no_function/permanent/trigger SUBSECTION : MUTE_PIN_SOURCE OPTIONS : no_source/mono_aux_mixed/mono_aux_exclusive/stereo_aux_exclusive/entertainment_mute/security_exclusive SECTION : TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE SUBSECTION : MUTE_BUTTON OPTIONS : aktiv/nicht_aktiv VERSUS MODULE : CCC_APP_{C09/C0A/C0B/C0C}: SECTION : CKM_9901 - Car/key memory for programmable buttons SUBSECTION : K9901_MUTE_EIN - Programmable button for audio muting OPTIONS : par_frei - parameter available : par_gesperrt - parameter locked QUESTIONS: 1. Is K9901_MUTE_EIN (CCC) used to enable/disable the existing mute button on the volume knob? 2. Is K9901_MUTE_EIN (CCC) the equivalent of TELEFON_TELEMATIK_ONLINE (CIC)? 3. Shall I conclude that the MUTE_PIN cannot be programmed with CCC? 4. Shall I conclude that the MUTE_PIN can be programmed with CIC? |

BimmerGeeks came back to me:

So I am concentrating my efforts on the mute wires I soldered on the volume encoder. I am building a circuit involving a relay and a "one shot/monostable multivibrator" so that when the trigger goes to ground, the relay can momentarily join the 2 pins on the encoder. If anyone is good with electronics, I have opened this thread here or chime in below please: https://forum.allaboutcircuits.com/t...d-unit.199642/ Last edited by conandrum; 03-11-2024 at 02:05 PM.. |
