My dad has ordered a 2024 X1 Sport but we didn’t check if it had ambient lighting in the dash or not. We thought they all did but looking at pictures of nearly new models on the Approved Used section of the BMW web site we can’t see the LED light strip running along the trim.

Have they removed this from the base Sport specification for 2024 models?

According to the spec it says that the sport comes with the interior Lights Package which I would have thought meant the ambient lighting.
Probably best giving dealer a call and asking them.

He gave them a call and they said it does come with Ambient Lighting as standard and showed a picture of the menu system. But I looked in my 2023 X1 and it has another option in that menu called ‘Accent Lighting’ - that is what the dashboard lighting is and his 2024 model doesn’t have it.

I wonder if the accent lighting came as part of the Technology Pack with the Luxury Instrument Panel?

Looks that way, although that is not mentioned anywhere on BMWs web site or brochure. Dealer confirmed that the Sport model doesn’t have it. Very frustrating that BMW don’t put a full standard equipment list on their web site.

Hi, ambient lightning comes (in Belgium at least) with the interior trim.
You must upgrade to High-gloss Black Interior Trim.
It comes with all trims except the Quartz Silver Interior Trim.

You can see the led bars appear (also in the UK configurator) when you select High-gloss Black Interior Trim.
