iX1 launch control on iDrive 8
I’ve been trying to get launch control to activate on my iX1, with iDrive 8, 07/2023, but with no luck.
I saw someone else here post about launch control with his iX1 running iDrive 9, so I’m wondering if it’s a software issue or if I’m doing something wrong. |

I feel it might be an iDrive 9-only feature but hoping that after the 11/2023 or 03/2024 update, it will be available for the iX1 on iDrive 8 |

1. Hit Boost 2. Put pedal to the metal 3. Watch the Model 3 Performance (next to you) kick yo arse. |

Check out the launch control at minute 32:45 on the iX2. It even does the wheel vibration P.s. the model 3 dual motor is already faster than the iX1. The model 3 performance is in a completely different league. But I wouldn’t want to drive that trash, even though it’s faster and cheaper. |

Hmmm, just found a YouTube video referring to launch control on the iX1. Certainly seems to be ID8, though can't see any reference at all to launch control on either of the screens

I really doubt that was a launch control. He just had his foot on the brake and throttle pedals at the same time and then just released the brake pedal.

To launch control an ix1 (30 xdrive m sport) , you must be in sport mode with driving dynamics set to sport plus , foot hard on brake , pull the boost paddle , kick down throttle while still on the brake and voila !

When you kick down, do you mean to just floor it, or is there an actual kick down (pressable “button” at the end of the throttle)? |

I put my foot on the brake (needs to be quite hard) and then foot to the floor on the accelerator and it comes up, after the other steps too obviously. To be honest, it’s no quicker than a boost standing start, if you gives the car a fake rumble and twitching as if an ICE engine. |
