PHEV connection issue - Octopus

I’m having a problem with Octopus Intelligent. Every time I plug the granny charger in I get the message that a charging schedule has been made but after 5 minutes I get another message “unable to control my device”

I assume at that point I’m charging at full tariff rather than the cheap rate.

The Octopus app has been updated and now shows my 30e as an iX1. Question is does the Octopus app simply let me deregister the iX1 and then let me add the 30e again as a device?

Anyone have any ideas about the “unable to control my device”?

We don't have our X1 30e as the nominated car.
The nominated car is our EV.

So we just use the timer on the X1 and charge during the cheap hours and it works fine.

However, you do need to have a nominated car and be using it every so often with IO - or so I've read.

Can you use it this way for the time being till it's sorted?

Definitely shows up in the selection of cars when setting IO up and recognised mine as a 30e until the app updated

I reckon this is what I’m going to have to do for now. I actually did just this overnight last night. I think it needs to connect to IO once every 28 days to keep the tariff

I have just checked and the X1 Drive 30e is showing on the Octopus eligibility page.

https://octopus.energy/smart/intelligent-octopus-go/

I think it makes sense having the correct car selected given the difference in battery capacity / charging speeds etc.
Not sure exactly how the system works - but I wouldn't want it thinking I had say an 90 kw/h battery when it's only 14 kw/h.

I have just checked and it shows iX1 30 but only the X1 xDrive 25e which is the model I would select as it is the same size battery as the 30e.

I finally got this sorted, Octopus customer service were not very helpful as they couldn’t distinguish an iX1 xdrive30 from an X1 xdrive 30e. To be fair it is confusing if you are not in the know.

Anyway, I deregistered the car and reregistered it and after 3 or 4 failed attempts it seems to be working, with the correct car showing. Octopus even emailed me to tell me the car had been reregistered and asked if was it now sorted, which was a nice touch
