We received the 2nd letter ("Action required") dated 31 July 2024 and ours was then booked in with the dealer at the beginning of this week for the rectification. It took them around 6 hours to complete the work. We had the rear light fitting "Technical Enhancement" done at the same time.

sDrive20i MHT built November 2022.

Spoke with our sales rep today and their service director just wrapped a call with BMW HQ. There is a parts replacement required for this issue and part will be sent from Germany. Our dealer has over 20 sales pending due to this stop ship and those will be at the top of the list to get fixed. Parts should arrive next week so we are expecting to receive our M35i last week in August.

BMW have stopped all sold X1 cars from leaving any showrooms until the issue is resolved. Heard it is a braking issue.

Got an email yesterday that my wife's new X1 M35i was just cleared as not effected by the break issue. No software updates or part changes needed. Finally picking it up this morning, 10 days after the delivery-stop.

It seems they're still going through the part numbers to see which cars need to be recalled. Those awaiting delivery and the ones that actually have lights blinking on the dash have priority. I'm still waiting to see if my 2024 X6M will be recalled or not.

My 25e wasnt affected when I checked here some days ago. https://vehiclerecall.bmwgroup.com/i...uk&language=en

However today I see that I am affected. Mine was delivered late July 24. So it make sense that they are still going through the part numbers to see who is affected. I am waiting the dealer to call me back.

EDIT: They called back to say that they are awaiting instructions on how to apply the technical instructions on this recall (0034780200) and that its on the brake system. They told me to call BMW again in around 10 days. I am wondering isnt the recall supposed to come via the BMW app? Or an email or something? Why should we check every now and then the recall searcher from BMWGroup.com ?

Am I supposed to get a recall notification through the BMW app ?

I checked this link today (https://vehiclerecall.bmwgroup.com/i...uk&language=en) and it seems that my car is affected too by the 0034780200 recall. (30e production date early July 2024)

Allow me to say that also not in Portugal.

We have received the same (i guess) letter about the issue so that we aknowledge it, and the car will be delievered next days.

I was wondering if they wont solve this for the new cars getting out from factory, but seems they don't really know what to do, since the orders after this started are still in risk of the same problem (+/- half an year ago).

Anyone have any more news on the status of this recall? Our UK dealer still won’t release our used X1 we bought a few weeks ago.
