no data transfer via usb only charging - please check/confirm?

There has been other posts on this problem. It seems to be that some USB sticks work whilst others don’t.

it turns out that currently USB ports are only for charging - this is what it looks like on mine (there is only a charging icon, no data transfer icon [and the second cable is missing]) - such a "good change"

I can use a USB-C flash drive to store videos from drive recorder in mine.

Well that explains that. i will stop trying to get my ipod working on it then as it will not and looks like cant ever see it. its a shame because I liked using it for series podcasts and spotify just isnt as good for that. But to be fair it would probably all have to be controlled by multiple screen presses so that would have been a distraction oh hang on so is spotify, why cant I control it from the steering wheel buttons

I can export to the MyBMW application (there is no option to export to USB)

What I meant is that I am not exporting the videos. When recording, it will record directly to the flash drive.
