I can't take credit for this. But since we're talking baked goods. Here's some inspiration...

Tart Tatin
Baked apples in caramel sauce with almond pastry. Recipe from Bruno Albouze. First time with this recipe for me. Fun to make. Trickiest part is de-molding after overnight refrigeration. I panicked a little during the de-molding "flip" and used the wrong side (brown vs white) of the cake circle! Love the Heritage bundt pan from NordicWare - good quality and interesting shape that can be used with a variety of items. Last edited by chassis; 08-11-2024 at 09:31 AM.. |

3kg rye loaf baked yesterday. 60% whole rye flour and 40% unbleached white all purpose flour. My usual daily bread for breakfast.
I cut the large loaf into 6 pieces and freeze all of them, except the one piece I use daily for breakfast. The large loaf lasts a month or so, depending on travel schedule. |

Raspberry jam. I had a good harvest this year and still managed to make two jars because I already ate some.
Berries, pectin, one cup of sugar and boil until thick. The recipe calls for four cups of sugar, but I like my jam tart instead of sickly sweet. |

Citrusy shortbread. Not as lemony as I had hoped. Still good though.

I was a regular little Suzy Homemaker today.
I picked the last of my tomatoes. The ripe ones were mixed with my zucchinis, green peppers, garlic, basil and EVOO. I made ten freezer bags. And I made Chow-Chow with the green and yellow ones. |

Meat loaf in the oven this morning. Slow convect at 150° for six hours. Then under the broiler for two minutes. Just in time for dinner later.
