I don’t understand the logic behind the updates. I picked my car at the end of July and it’s still in the 03/2024.

That is normal. The 07/2024 update has not yet been released (it can currently only be updated by BMW).

It should be released in a few weeks by OTA

my x1 received 3 updates since I bought it. all were applied automatically by the BMW service department during regular service. I have never received notifications about OTA updates. (this is in the US)

I have it in French, not sure what is the exact translation in English), and on the right I could choose between balanced or dynamic.
Now, the speed has been changed to numbers, 1, 2, etc. and on the right, I can choose from where the air will blow, feet, middle or windshield. It also looks like that the air conditioning is much quieter now, which I appreciate very much.

Another thing that I have noticed is that the option to automatically activate the parking break when turning off the car gets automatically disabled from time to time. A bit annoying.
I think this was already there before if you put the AC in manual mode, have they made manual and automatic both have numbers now maybe?

I just checked and you are totally right, I was not aware!
The software upgrade or the service at the dealer reset some of my settings (not all), and I didn't notice the auto button.
Thanks for the heads up!

By the way, I am having 2 annoying issues after the upgrade:

1. the setting to automatically activate the parking break when I turn off the car gets disabled after a few rides. I keep going in the settings and re-activate it.

2. my car is hybrid, and I use the function to recharge it only during certain hours in the night (cheaper with my electricity contract). This does not work anymore: the car does start charging. I need to revert the charging settings to charging immediately.

Did you also have any of these issues?
I contacted the dealer, but I doubt they will be able to help for these software related issues.

Still worth reporting them. They may patch in subsequent versions of 07/24.

Still on 03/2024.40 here in the east coast of USA. I believe this ine went OTA in June. So I’m assuming new 07/2024 software will be rolling out OTA sometime in October around here. 🤞🤞

I wonder if my BMW dealer's service dept gets paid when they update my car. Whenever there's a new update, the service advisor always calls and tells me to "stop by anytime so we can update your X1" They update mine to 07/2024 in 07/2024. same thing with the previous two updates. They called me just days after the updates were released. I don't really mind because they have really good freshly ground and brewed coffee, as well as all-you-can eat Krispy Kreme donuts.

I wish my dealer on LI, NY was that proactive. I’ve never received a phone call or other communication from them about prior software updates they could do.

Fact is, with exception to 1 of my 3 scheduled appts in March when I received paperwork about the service (s) that were done in an attempt to resolve ID9 related issues, they have not produced a paper trail of my issues. But on the good side, they went to work right away while I sat in the vehicle rather than having me wait or come back.
