Noise in brakes
Hey folks,
I've been dealing with a problem for a few weeks now and had no luck solving on my own or BMW service. Hoping someone on here has some ideas! I've been hearing a weird noise in what sounds like the right front side of the car. Typically, it happens after starting the car when it's been parked for a period of time. Here's a video of the sound: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Lh28R4yWQ8cH5A2j9 The first time I heard the sound it went away after driving slowly around the neighborhood for a bit. I did the reverse trick, turned the wheel a bunch and I heard a loud clink noise under the car (middle transmission area). So I assumed it was a rock or some debris in the brake shield. However, it's now come and gone twice more since then. In addition, there's also a more general squeak sound (almost like a belt or bearing) from the engine bay but only under throttle that's popped up randomly. All the noises started at the same time. It almost feels like the right brake is partially engaged when I start the car. (I could be overthinking this). Couple questions: 1. Is there an area under the car that can harbor small rocks or gravel? I'm in a city, and it seems odd that I picked up three rocks within two weeks. I've looked and don't see anything obvious, however, I can't really get under the car. 2. Any other ideas on what to check into? BMW said they didn't see anything in the brakes when the car was in for an oil change last week. Appreciate any help or ideas! |
