I tried to open the speed camera app to check it was set to alert and it won’t open. Car is an 2023 iX1 / iDrive 8.

I tried holding down the volume button to reboot and that didn’t fix it. Also tried a different drivers profile but made no difference.

Not sure if it’s a wider issue, only noticed after updating to 07/2024.40 but it may not have been working before.

I also tried an app refresh but no joy. Can’t think of what else to try!

Don’t see this. Does this require an active BMW Digital Premium subscription?

It’s not really an “app”. It’s an additional function used in tandem with the OEM satnav. It has its own “app” page, which is basically just a settings page to turn it on/off.

By subscribing to it (for a fee), you will get speed camera notifications on your HUD or instrument cluster.

It works well most of the times, but it also misses several speed cameras (at least in Austria).

When did you update to 07/2024? It might be that you need to wait a few hours before all the services are back up and running.

It doesn’t require digital premium but it does require the car to have certain options. See attached.

I upgraded on Friday and still an issue Monday morning.

Is the Speed Camera app only a thing on ID8? I have ID9 and don’t see it, although I do see Speed Cameras on HUD and maps.

You have to register for it on the BMW Connected Drive website.

This is the same thing. Your setup process might be different. In iDrive 8 we can activate/deactivate the speed camera outside of the maps app.
