2024 BMW X1 Saga
We purchased our X 1 on May 24 2024. The following day we noticed issues involving the memory seats/mirrors not working for each profile, No FM radio stations appeared for one profile, long delay with Hello BMW, Voice controls hit and miss and climate controls would not change with voice or buttons.
After a number of phone calls to BMW Connect and our sales person trying to fix the issues, it was time to see if the Service Department at our Dealership could fix the problems. We have owned the vehicle for 103 days and it has been in and out of the shop for 47 days. Some things have been fixed but not everything. The one thing that no one has an answer to is the fact that BMW Connect shows I Drive 8 software but I Drive 9 Hardware data. The car has I drive 9. Anyone thinking about buying a BMW with I Drive 9 might want to wait 6 months or longer and see if they can correct issues with I Drive 9, unless we just have bad luck with our car. We did start the buy back/exchange program on the car under Arizona Lemon Law and with BMW. |

I just started the BMW buyback program as well (2 days ago)... I should hear something in the next 3-5 days according to them.
I'm having mostly the same issues, on top of odd door unlocking behavior. Adding to the above, I also got a CEL last week (emissions related I think, requires a part). Some aspects of the car are good, but they really need to iron out the software. They also need to reevaluate this implementation of auto-start stop as its just dangerous in my opinion.

The service manage kept saying “what can we do to keep you as a satisfied BMW 1st time buyer?” I negotiated & received $800 check from BMW Corporate for my inconvenience. Luckily most of the major issues of that time have settled down since. But like most vehicles a few annoyances remain. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞 ID9 BMW should have done much more testing before they put them in the 2024 X1’s early on. |

Update
Well, our X 1 has been in the shop since Aug 13. Our Dealership just received another 2024 X 1 and it has the same problems. We have to wait for a new controller and key fobs to see if that works.
I am not holding my breath and we have to wait for the attempted repair before BMWNA decides if the vehicle meets the lemon law requirements. We are giving up on BMW if this cannot be fixed. |
