You're not missing a lot, trust me. Yes you can get out of the car, fiddle one minute with your phone and then watch it drive that last 2 meters at 4km/h.

It can now also park in empty spots based on the lines which is great, but then again I don't need any assistance in an empty parking lot either.

That’s the thing. Unless they’ve actually changed the hardware, it seems to only be a software issue. Other models, for example the iX of 2023 now has the remote parking feature through the same software update.

The parking spots based on the lines has been there from the very beginning. I think it’s part of the parking assistant plus? I’ve had this since I got my car in June 2023.

One new, and genuinely useful feature we got with the 07/2024 update is the ability for the car to stop at red traffic lights when nobody is in front of you. I know this is also region-specific, so maybe some already had this feature before, but it’s been great using it since the update.

I never got that impression from driving the car and the manual attributes it to the Pro version... it's hard to tell as the interface gives no clue.

This worked for me before but I have to manually confirm the light with SET on approach. Does it work fully autonomous in your region? That would be cool 😀

I now understand what you mean with the empty parking between lines. I actually never tried this. As you said completely useless to do so when the spaces are empty. I thought you meant general parking in empty spaces between lines and between cars (but not when there are no cars on either side of the parking spot).

Anyone here with an X1 M35i notice anything different with drivability on the new 07/2024 update? I noticed improved In-Lane Keep Assist (I have a one hour drive to and from work everyday here in Los Angeles) but it seems power delivery has changed for the worse...It feels a bit lazier overall and not as punchy...perhaps in pursuit of improving twitchy throttle complaints? All thoughts welcome. Thank You.

Anyone (EV/PHEV) having problems with charging schedules since the update?

We have the X1 30e which has always been faultless charging overnight at cheap rate.

And now it isn't!

It starts charging briefly when you first plug it in, then pauses as the cars timer kicks in - as normal.
But it never then restarts charging overnight.

Nothing changed with settings. Just the update.
Charger is on dumb charge (no timers).

I updated the software on my 30e and then went off on holiday, so haven't tried a charge yet. I'll be doing it on Monday 7th when I return and let you know

BTW, my drivers side door handle (when pulled) now actually unlocks all doors instead of just the drivers door. This was fixed in the latest update.

Did the remote software upgrade last night on my 2024 iX1 and got a message on the app saying it had installed and was ready to use. But this morning, I was greeted by the iDrive screen below. Unfortunately no iDrive media or AirCon functions are available. I tried rebooting the software by holding the audio mute button for 30secs, but it just restarts to the same screen, albeit now just with the title "Remote Softward Upgrade" and without the compliting activation text. BMW have no comments and simply say I have to bring it in for service, for which the nearest appt is 2 weeks away. Not happy. Not likely to do another OTA upgrade again; too much risk. I'm not new to OTAs, having had EVs for 4 years and OTA cars before that too. Just first time with BMW - great introduction!

Earlier this week I installed the new 07/2024.40 to my 2024 X1 28i (in USA) with premium package, BMW Drive Recorder, Smartphone Integration, Driving Assistant Plus, Digital Standard & ID9 but without the DIGITAL PREMIUM.

So far I’ve noticed only a couple of changes from the previous 03/2024.40 update.
> 😃 Now have the New but worthless clock format called “QLOCKTWO” that only provides an estimate of the time.
> 😃 Noticed driver screen can be set to show “G Force”. (I don’t think it was there before) & haven’t played around with it at all. If it’s anything like a similar feature I gave in my RDX, I will not use it.
> 😃 The volume level is now showing again on the screen, which was not since a smaller OTA update took place sometime during September.

> ☹️ The HK speakers now only can light up WHITE because BMW removed speakers ability to depict color matching ambient color for some reason from the menu.

Yup got the same thing. No setting for the HK speakers. I have the same version as well. 07/2024.40. It only lights in white.

Since the update, the LEDs on the steering wheel no longer illuminate green when Assisted Driving Mode Plus is active as well. Only Yellow and Red.

Weird, though I’ve driven many times since the update was installed last week, on todays 1st drive the steering wheel DID light up in GREEN when I back out of the garage. Suppose BMW did a small OTA update within past few days & fixed that issue. Hopefully it will continue to work properly going forward. 🤞
