this is my personal opinion after having driven my friend's new Macan more than a few times.(including one trip from Chicago to New York to Boston)

if you're already considering the SQ5, check out the Macan. if you don't go overboard with the options, it wont' cost that much more... but the Macan is a much more enjoyable car to drive. (compared to M35i and SQ5)

Of course, I don't need to buy the Macan for myself. That's why it's very important to have a good friend who will let you borrow his own Macan whenever. (yes, I do have the car detailed professionally and topped off with the best Shell gasoline before I drop it off at his house... in fact, I treat it as if it's my own car. I also frequently bring his family gifts from far away places... but it's totally worth it)

Macan 4cyl is bloated gti, has the same engine so need to go with v6. Back seats are a joke and trunk is not great either. I don’t see any value in it and b58 is smoother operator. Mybe ok for 2 people or fam with very small kids. Teens won’t have much room.

Mazda cx-5 has good ol’ 6sp auto, no start stop and nice turbo engine. The interior is great and handling is fun with good steering. Oh and no fkg ASS! Much better value!
