Battery charging question
I got a message on start up today saying I had an issue. I’ve been away for 10 days and the car has stood during this time.
Can anyone advise if the PHEV 12V battery is charged when I plug in the car or do I need a battery charger connected instead? The in car message said to start the car and contact service if the problem persists |

We had something almost identical appear in the display when we got in after a week away. I believe that for a PHEV there is a charge that goes from charging the car to the 12v battery. There was some conversation on it earlier when they first came out how it worked if you can find it.
We have just used the car with no further issues or messages appearing. I think it's more an indication rather than an actual issue. |

Thanks, I’ve got a 40 mile round trip tomorrow and the car is plugged in to take it from 80% charge to 95% charge overnight so fingers crossed.
I used the BMW app a few times when I was away and I wondered if it was doing this that maybe woke the car up each time, reducing the battery power as the dash cam would have activated for about 10 minutes each time before power off |
