Colorado trip winter 2024-2025
Just another random upcoming trip thread....
So I have a group of 9 or 10 people heading to the Colorado slopes for a ski week this winter. Some will fly, some will drive but there will be car transportation available. I'm just wondering what sort of non-ski attractions like restaurants, events, muesums, etc. are worth checking out mid February in the Denver area? We will likely have a day or two to kill depending on flight times. Already checked out sporting events and concerts and it's a bit sparse unfortunately. I know there's a bunch of great people on the forums from that area, any personal recommendations? The ski side of things we already have mostly planned, but interesting recommendations would be appreciated too. |

Carelli's Italian restaurant in Boulder is good.
Boulder itself is interesting, as are most university towns. Waterloo bar in Louisville has great burgers. Cherry Creek mall for upscale shopping if this scratches anyone's itch. |

Have fun, they're getting dumped on this week. I go out every year, family has property about 2 hours west of Denver. What ski spots do you have picked out?

We got 30” in 3 days, but it’s melting fast. All Ski areas will be ok, but it’s still early season so watch for sharks, wherever you end up riding. Wolf Creek is where I’d be if I weren’t recovering from surgery.

Copper is one of my go-to spots out there. Breckenridge too if I don't mind a little more drive time. Have fun out there. Do you ski or snowboard?

There's various skill levels in the group so no one's skiing alone at least. |

Check Buell theater for any shows during that date.
Cherry Creek area for high end shipping and modern, young people dining. Meow Wolf if you want to get ripped and have a trippy experience. Not sure of your ski destination but I would look at taking the train from Denver to Winter Park and then heading on to your final destination from there. |

I backcountry tour so I’m up before 0600 and back before 2 pm. I70 is a shitshow. Don’t count on the toll lanes to be open. Be patient and courteous, as much as possible. People come from all over, to have fun, and sometimes lose their minds/ common sense. Come, enjoy, and be cool! |
