BimmerCom: Disable Start/Stop from BimmerCode
Getting clear answers as to what, if any options are out there to defeat the ASS system in the newer cars has been more difficult that it should be.
One potential solution that has been floated, though with conflicting information is BimmerCom, an ODB accessory (left inserted in the port) that solves the problem for us. I'm posting this thread to clear up the facts about this product. Name: BimmerCom Produced by: BimmerCode Format: Plug & Play ODB Cost: TBD Release: TBD The URL to read about the product and provide your email to waitlist has changed, the new URL is here. Disappointing that we don't have an ETA but I am glad to know that there is a solution on the horizon produced by a company we can trust. If I learn more I'll post an update here, and welcome anyone else with information on this product or any other that may address the ridiculous ASS to do the same. |

I've been lurking in the G87 M2 forums for a bit now, as I hope to get one next year after the X1 lease is up. There's a CanDO module that they can use to program Canbus commands and macros to enable/disable settings as soon as they turn on the car. I wonder if that unit could be used for the U11 platform and perform a similar function?

If it works, it could be a good solution for a lot of the complaints members here have with the X1. Disable ASS, start in sport mode, hide the disclaimer, etc.

Do the typical OBD2 Bluetooth connectors for Bimmercode not work with newer models?? just had someone with an X1 complain to me about this, so looking into it, but on the older F series 2014 to 2018 there are many well established ways to disable ASS. This Veepeak works consistently coding F series and is noted as supported on Bimmercode site.
There is a wealth of Bimmercoding info on older forums. https://a.co/d/dFHd2Ft |
