I have BMW digital key plus, I have deleted the key from my iPhone and gone through the setup process again and added the digital key to my phone apple wallet and my watch apple wallet.

My phone opens the car whilst walking up to the car, I believe this is called passive entry.

My Apple Watch however doesn’t do this and I have to tap the watch on the door handle.

My watch is a SE 2024 and is brand new, does my watch not support passive entry?

The watch SE doesn't have UWB, which is needed for passive entry. Only the 'full fat' Apple watches have UWB.

No, it’s within the 14 days return period so I’m going to return it tomorrow.

I wanted it to use as a car key but also a golf GPS watch.

I’m not arsed about reading messages and emails etc on it.
