Stop Light notifications- USA

Stop Light notifications (advising of upcoming stop light cameras) USA. Available within “Digital Premium”
I let the 3 month free trial for Premium Digital expire several months ago. I’m considering starting it up again now that BMW has added several other features in the 07/2024 software upgrade that I was able to install on the ID9 early October.

When I used Stop Light notifications before I did not find a way to have the system inform me verbally that I was approaching a light that had cameras. It only came up on the screen(s) in front of driver & I think HUD. My prior Mazda was able to verbally inform me I was coming up to a camera in a specific distance.

I have a question for anyone that has experience with this feature.
Is there a way to set the feature up to verbally announce it? If so, can you advise what setting I’ll need to do.

I recall when I set up the initial settings, in January 2024, I turned off verbal notifications for things like speed and blind spot. I’m hoping that this setting is separate from Stop Light verbal notifications, if there is such a thing.

Thanks.

Pretty sure it's not limited to digital premium, because I don't have it and I get stop light notifications. Never seen anything verbal, just on screen.

I think BMW wants to avoid liability issues by not verbally announcing things. Another example is text messaging (not apple carplay) where there is no audible alert.

Can you tell me what the settings are to get the feature to work. Mine was working until my Digital Premium 3 month trial ended. Everything I’ve read states the subscription is required for the notifications to show on screen.

I think the term stop light notification may be causing some confusion - in the nav options you can choose to show stop lights - it sounds like the feature you're referring to is the traffic camera notification, which is a premium
