This Is Perplexing..........
I bought OEM All Season Floor Mats (Driver and Passenger). I noticed that the drivers side mat (See figure 1) has round "velcro like" inserts that match up with the ones on the floor to keep the mats in place. The passenger side mat (See figure 2)oes not have them. If anyone has these mats are yours the same? Is there some rational for this that I am not seeing? Thanks.

I get what your saying but the OEM Carpet mats, that came with the car, have the "velcro like" inserts on the passenger mat. Maybe more BMW cost cutting.

I went to various BMW dealerships. They pulled numerous all season floor mats for the X1 both from the parts department and vehicles on the lot that came with them from the factory. None had the velcro circles on the passenger side mat.
I found these on Amazon and attached them to the passenger mat. See pictures attached. |

Another penny pinching strategy by BMW. Guess they kept the pair ONLY on drivers side because of the financial impact it would have on them if the mat shifted & caused the Peddle to jam. Drivers in parts of the world would sue.

Perhaps so, but others on the thread said theirs had Velcro fasteners on both fronts. WELL, it seams NOT ANY LONGER sinceBMW found another 50 cents to be saved on the $45-52k build. 🤪
