What Did You Do To Your X1/X2 Today (U11/U10 Edition)

I have seen this thread on my G42/G87 page and I thought we could start one here. Basically, people showcase what modifications that they have made to their vehicle. I realize that owners of an X1 might not be modifiying as much as they do to a M240i or M2 but I thought I would start one here.
I will start with my first "modification". The addition of OEM all season floor mats and cargo mat.

Painted my exhaust pan BLACK to hide that hideous eye sore on the bottom of the car when looking at it from behind. Looks so much better and sportier!

Installed a hardwired dashcam. Super clean, though I broke two clips getting the trim off.

Broke them also. You need part #: 51-16-5-A81-E30. It is a three piece set. Did you use a mirror tap or go to the fuse box?

Used the mirror tap, I slipped in a couple pieces of adhesive felt to keep the trim taught, it may be more quiet now than before. Thanks for the part number, I'm going to see how it goes without replacing for now.

I reset my infotainment system because I couldn't turn the heat on (touched the screen, went in and out of the fan menu, nothing)!

Got it from Lowe's - "Rust-Oleum" High Heat (Ceramic Coating) Flat Black.

Now that I think about it, I probably should've looked for gloss black. I was just focused on the spray being heat resistant (up to 2000 deg F) and black.

But it did the job of hiding that tin can below the car lol...

I began the installation of my Blackvue Dash Cam which had been previously installed on my 2020 X3. Since I wired it to the fuse box on that vehicle I though I would do it that way again. And yes, I know I could have used a mirror tap! I also intended to use the same Blendmount. Unfortunately, the Blendmount that I had used on the X3 would not properly fit on the X1. I reached out to Blendmount and was advised that I could purchase the upper piece only and use the bottom portion of the Blendmount that was used on the X3. Doing it this way I saved $60 off the purchase of an entire Blendmount for the X1. I used this video to access the mirror area.

But unlike the person doing that installation I broke a few tabs off the front piece. The part # to replace it is: 51-16-5-A81-E30. BMW does not sell the front piece only. It comes with the sides pieces as well. It costs around $25..
I did not want to see much of the power cord. The Blackvue power cord connector is a right angle design to I had to get creative. I notched out a small portion of the right side piece to permit the plug to pass through. I then ran the wire across the windshield headliner to the "A" pillar. I removed the "A" pillar pursuant to this post:
https://u11.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2019477
and down to the fuse box which is located under the glove box and passeneger footwell. There is a panel there that can be removed to access the fuse box.
UNFORTUNATELY I CANNOT FIND A FUSE BOX DIAGRAM so my project has been temporarily halted.
Pictures are attached.

Very nice mods. BTW: All of a sudden when I post, my pictures are sideways. How do you have them in the proper orientation? Thanks.

Installed a this glove box light. https://www.yurikaccessories.com/pro...r-the-glovebox
I purchased it from Esty.
It came with 3m tape on the back but since I foresaw a day when the battery would have to be replaced I took off the tape and substituted Velcro. The instructions said to place it on the left side of the glove box but I installed it where the factory glove box light should have been.
Here are my Likes and Dislikes:
LIKES:
1) It is small and black. Blends in with the inside of the glove box.
2) It uses a CR2032 battery. It helps keep the size and weight down.
3) It cost $12.64.
4) It turns on when you open the glove box by sensing motion.
DISLIKES:
1: It only stays on for a few seconds and I do not think that can be adjusted.
Attached are some pictures.

J-RO, thanks for photos of the light.
1. Can you provide the ordering #?
2. You mentioned the light only turns on for a few seconds when glove box is opened & it senses movement. Will it turn back on a second & third time if you are still searching around in the box?
Thanks

Not sure what you mean by the order number but this might be helpful:
https://www.etsy.com/listing/1230691...ion-activated?

The light turns back on while searching around but not consistently immediately. I found that I had to move my hand around. To be honest I have not tried to play around with it that much since I have been busy with other things.
