Installed the 11/2024.30 yesterday happy to report that the scheduled charging is back working as it should be as now which is great.

Not clear if the auto handbrake is now fixed or not as well will have to see if it doesn't apply properly at some point.

Can confirm also 11/2024.30 installed successfully with “charge in time slot” so far operating correctly. Time will tell if auto hold also fixed.

Advanced warning of IBS issue we will not know about presumably until it happens.

It’s allowing dealers to sell a backlog of cars that currently have a stop on them because of the IBS recall. Expect a glut of nearly new and stock cars any time soon.

My 11.2024.30 loaded to the phone, then to the car, now seems stuck.
2024 X1 M35i says it’s ready to update but the phone says it’s blocked
-first it says I need to drive
-then it says the car needs to cool down.

I’ve rebooted the system. Still no go.
Any ideas how to force it?

Add: now it says to drive to charge the starter battery. What is that about?

If this is your first update you might be following BMWs steps improperly. In prior OTA updates I had similar issues.

Try this.
Process: To transfer downloaded ID9 software from MyBMW app on iPhone must be connected by both WiFi & Bluetooth to X1
Step 1- DOWNLOAD update to phone through MyBMW App while connected to WiFi
Step 2- UPLOAD from MyBMW app to vehicle “DRIVING IS REQUIRED”
PREPARATION- AFTER UPLOAD IS COMPLETE AUTOMATICALLY GOES INTO “PREPARATION” FOR A FEW MINUTES IT’S OK TO BE DRIVING.

Step 3- INSTALLATION “VEHICLE MUST BE OFF & PARKED WITH ALL DOORS, WINDOWS & SUNROOF CLOSED. Takes about 20 minutes & can’t be driven until completed. Follow ID9 instructions carefully

PHEV here and I haven’t had it yet but I’m assuming it’s because there is a battery warning in my BMW app. I’m sure a few of the other PHEV owners have posted that they have it already

Yes, and just installed 11.2024/30 a couple of days ago with no issues via app on my phone.

I have two profiles on one key. Since the update it seems that everytime I enter the car I have to choose a profile and wait for it to load up. I dont remember doing this before the update. I seem to recall it staying on the last profile. Maybe I am wrong and becoming senile.

Wow I didn’t know that was possible to have 2 profiles on a key. When we got our other car, we were told that it different profiles are tied to different keys but that you can switch to a different profile when you’re in the car

I completely the vehicle PREPARATION stage of the new 11/2024.30 update but when I turned off my 2024 ICE x1 28i, expecting it to start the final stage of INSTALLATION, I got the battery message below on the center screen.

MyBMW app has conflicting information.
First “Drive to charge the starter battery”
Second “Update will be installed automatically at 1:00am December 13th; very early tomorrow morning as I had previously set up on the app.

Guess I’ll find out tomorrow which information on the app is correct. Battery issue or scheduling?

PS before starting upload I drove vehicle in daylight about 40 minutes at highway speeds. I would except that ride to have changed the battery adequately.

HAVE NOT SEEN CONFLICTING INFO ON PRIOR UPDATES. I’M PUZZLED LIKE OTHERS WHO POSTED, WHAT HAPPENING WITH THIS TIME.

12/13-9am update - well the 11/2024 did NOT install as scheduled at 1am. Turned out after an hour charging the starter battery this morning the installation step went through. It must take alot of current to do so, because as it began to install, the charger went from “Absorption” back to “bulk” & after 1 more hour charging, it did not raise back to “Absorption”. After “Absorption” it typically goes to “Full” after an hour or 2 charging.

Have only used one key on all our BMW’s. This way my wife does not get confused.

Ah, gotcha. I guess we are fortunate that our cars have different styles of fobs. I put a little sticker on the back of my fob for my husband’s car so I knew which was “mine” in case the fobs were ever sitting next to each other.

I don’t drive his car all that often, so I’ll probably just use my phone when I need that car. With that said, I haven’t had it long enough for me to fully wrap my brain around leaving the house without carrying a key fob. It’s kinda weird to think about. Technology marches on.
