I don't see things quite the same way as the meme above. For example, think about the many race strategy errors the F' team delivered in 2024. HAM is an important spoke in the team wheel, but the other team players must not make strategic mistakes when supporting HAM i.e. tire strategy, fuel strategy etc.

hamilton can help the team with his experience and his motivation to launch Charles into glory

but if Hamilton wants the team to treat him as top dog, Ferrari will fall apart because i don't think he's as fast as he used to be. in his debut season he beat reigning world champion Fernando Alonso (who denied Schumacher his 8th title in the process), no idea why they're both still around!

Carbon-neutral fuels are designed to have no net carbon emissions over their lifecycle. While burning these fuels still produces carbon dioxide (CO₂), this is balanced by the carbon captured or removed during their production process. This is achieved in several ways:

Biofuels: Derived from organic materials like plants or agricultural waste. The plants absorb CO₂ during their growth, which offsets emissions when the fuel is burned.

Synthetic Fuels (e-fuels): Created using captured CO₂ from the atmosphere and hydrogen extracted from water, using renewable energy sources. These fuels are manufactured in a way that recycles carbon, ensuring zero additional carbon is released into the environment.

Impact on Formula 1 Cars:

Sustainability Goals: By switching to carbon-neutral fuels, Formula 1 aligns with its target of becoming carbon-neutral as a sport by 2030. This move demonstrates leadership in promoting eco-friendly technologies that could have applications in everyday vehicles.

Performance Innovation: Carbon-neutral fuels are designed to mimic the energy density and performance characteristics of conventional fossil fuels. Engineers are refining the internal combustion engines (ICE) to maximize efficiency and power output while ensuring compatibility with these sustainable fuels.

Hybrid Systems: These fuels work alongside advanced hybrid power units, which integrate electric components to recover and reuse energy. The result is a system that not only reduces emissions but also achieves exceptional energy efficiency.

Why This Matters for Fans and the Industry:
Faster Cars: Contrary to concerns about sustainability reducing performance, the development of carbon-neutral fuels ensures that Formula 1 maintains its reputation for speed and innovation. The engineering teams are leveraging cutting-edge science to make the cars faster while meeting sustainability criteria.

Ripple Effect in Automotive Technology: Formula 1’s adoption of carbon-neutral fuels serves as a testing ground for similar technologies in consumer vehicles. If successful, this could accelerate the global transition to cleaner fuels for road transportation.

Environmental Responsibility: With the world focusing on reducing carbon footprints, Formula 1’s commitment signals a shift in motorsport culture, proving that high-performance racing can coexist with environmental consciousness.

I don't agree. Is Hamilton going to play Perez? I don't think so. Charles has been there for years and does little more than he did this year. In other words, in my opinion, Ferrari will bring Ham to try to add the greatest number of points because Ham's consistency and experience could somehow galvanize the team but this is all a bit of speculation. I just think that Ham isn't going to Ferrari to be a coach.

Think it must be similar in formulation to Shell's Indycar series fuel...
“Shell’s 100% Renewable Race Fuel powering all competing vehicles in the INDYCAR SERIES contains a significant mix of second-generation ethanol combined with another renewable component to create the 100% renewable formulation that will reduce the greenhouse gas emissions by at least 60 percent compared to fossil-based gasoline,” said Bassem Kheireddin, Shell technology manager of motorsports. “We are very proud to bring it to the series, and it's a step to decarbonize motorsport.”

If HAM wants the F' Team to treat him as top dog not only will the F' Team possibly fall apart, but HAM's desire to be Top Dog will deny launching Charles into glory (they're mutually exclusive). It must be one or the other for HAM and F' Team - but not both.

The South African Grand Prix (not to be confused with South Africa) could return to Formula 1 in 2027.

👉 A committee will be set up next week to select the organiser of the Grand Prix, which will be held in Kyalami.

👉 The necessary modifications are planned to ensure that the track receives FIA Grade 1 certification.

Mmmmm, 2026 car. It's a strange thing that concepts always look heavier than the cars in reality (although 2026 cars should be smaller and lighter). In general, I like the cars of the latest regulations more than, say, the cars of the previous regulations (they seemed kind of square to me)

Perhaps the most noticeable change is the rear and front wing, which is completely new compared to the previous concept car

In addition, the concept has what we'll call "gills" for cooling in the rear, and the floor has been changed a bit

The FIA decided to show the new 2026 model car early in the morning to demonstrate their work on the regulations.

This is already the 9th version of the regulations and more detailed shots of it were leaked a week ago.

There are not many conceptual changes. One interesting thing is that large winglets appeared on the end plates of the front wing, which perhaps devalues the narrower central plane of the wing (1-2 photos). After all, in fact, due to the 2 planes behind the end plates, we have a continuation of the wing, only without active elements. At the same time, they can become even larger in size (3 photos). The teeth on the lower plane, which were planned to puncture the tires of rivals, have disappeared. Now the FIA model has a very thick nose (4 photos), but teams will probably not use this, resorting to a narrower version (5 photos). The new wing should increase the pressure on the front axle compared to the previous model.

On the front edge of the floor, in addition to the external deflector, there will be 5 guides instead of 4 (4 photos). The central part of the bottom has become even flatter, due to the fact that the two-story floor has disappeared (6-7 photos). Previously, the floor was elevated under the pontoons. Now, the absolutely flat bottom, with the exception of a small diffuser, will create even less pressure. There is still room for fantasy above the side edge of the floor.

The rear wing has received a recess toward the center, and at the same time the silhouette itself has become even smaller (7-8 photos).

Cadillac? Which Cadillac?

Ferrari has announced that it will supply F1 engines (and gearboxes) to Andretti from 2026.

Oh that's choice... The Maranello Press Release should be corrected to say, "led by TWG Global and General Motors, but powered by Ferrari"...

Dang, is that really him. I realize Flavio is now 74 years old but what happened to the other Flavio below?

Here's a SUN article from October 2024 claiming he's back again with his now 44 year old ex-wife / girlfriend Elisabetta Gregoraci. He looks like he needs some selenium for his age spots in the first photo above but his staying power must be fine.
