The newer 07/2024._ _ rolled out but only through some dealers. I’ve not heard of it as an OTA update yet within USA. OTA update is expected shortly, but time will tell.

i also just got this today at US dealer after complaining. They needed BMWNA approval as this was not available at the dealer. So far so good with android and BT but need more time with it. NO 7/24 in any system in the US the tech said.

Sorry if it was replied before, but have Waze maps ever appeared in the cockpit? It only works with Google maps on Android. With Waze I see directions but not the map...

No, it won't show with Waze. You will only get directions.

I think it’s 07/2024.44 (it’s definitely 07/2024) but I can’t see the exact number in the app as it only managed to transfer 90% while driving home.

idrive 8.5 used to have a "comfort access" menu where one can specify a home zone and then use that to deactivate automatic locking functions, when walking away etc. I do not see this on idrive 9. Is this still available and where can I find it?

The weather widget is useless. Maybe even worse since the 11/2024 update. I have the weather widget on my home screen. It never tells the correct temperature. I have to touch it which brings up the full weather and then go back to the home screen Then it never updates. On my M240i with idrive 8 I never have this problem. It even tells me the weather in whatever town I am in.

I'm still on 07/2024, but my Spotify has been semi-broken for about two months now. Not sure if related to the OS or has the app itself updated.

Anyway it no longer starts playing at start-up, but when I mute+unmute it starts playing. However when browsing songs or albums, I can't select any of them, it does not respond to touch. When I go to Radio and back to Spotify, everything starts working again. Need to do this after each vehicle start.

I have tried restarting the system with volume button long-pressing several times to no avail.

Great, thanks for posting that. That's the best overview of the system that I've seen thus far and its very helpful. I "sort of" knew a lot of that, but nothing about the drive recording. My "genius" either wanted to go to lunch or really didn't know much about ID9 when I took delivery this past Saturday. I admit I was just pumped to get moving so I didn't ask any questions except for a few I already knew the answer to (just to see what he'd say).

So far I'd say that I've had no issues with ID9 in terms of errors or anything weird going on. I knew I'd miss the controller, but it is what it is.

this might be obvious for some, but I was having issues with idrive 9 after the latest update (never really spent any time with pre-update since it was available the day we got ours) ... after a good deal of frustration i did a full reset, including removing the vehicles from mybmw app and removing the mybmw app from our phones and alexa from mybmw app and vice versa, ... then started over from scratch. wife was pissed about losing settings & shortcuts but it seemed to clear up some of issues I was having. On one of the cars I even had to contact siriusxm and get a refresh after full reset (strange that it was just one). *i tried most of this in part before going nuclear, including several reboots of everything ~ but not all together

now i would say i'm not having any actually issues ~ other than just general disdain for the interface and removal of choices / customizations that were avail in idrive 7
