I’ve just had 4 new tyres put on yesterday.

The same as to what BMW supplied it with, although still summer tyres, all this snow and ice we’re having it does make a big difference having a full tread pattern to use.

What sort of miles did you get out of the originals? Did the front and rears both have the same wear on them?

Me too if I was specifying from scratch and I would have gone with the same 19" wheels I bought refurbished, although my X1 was specced as a showroom car by the main dealer, so I didn't have any choices anyway. (One of those once in a lifetime, just retired, spurr of the moment decisions we made after they told me delivery was about 6months from order!).
Michelin don't make the Crossclimate 2's in 245/40x20, but I think they will soon release a CC3 as they have been out a while now and other tyre makers have caught them up in 'some' areas. But still very much a top tyre in its class. Tbh I got them at a fantastic price too. I did OK on the pressure sensors and centre caps/M badges as well. Main dealer wanted over £400 just for the four tpms sensors. I got all four for just over half of what the dealer wanted to scalp me for one. It certainly pays to do a little homework and 'shop around'.
Sorry, I've gone off on a tangent from the original thread question. Hope you get some answers to your actual question.

15K, car was registered new April 2024.

Tyres had 2.6mm left on them (all 4).

No idea if that’s good mileage or not, let’s just say the AWD system has been tested at times 😂

Fitted Goodyear Vector 4Season tyres to my 25e just before a ski holiday to the alps. There was a fair bit of snow there for our drive back and was really impressed with the grip going over the mountains, hardly ever fussed at all (unless you put your foot down!).

We had about 4 inches of snow a couple of weeks ago. I couldn't get the X1 to move without turning off traction control. The traction control was so aggressive, it just wouldn't let any wheel spin without cutting power. It was my first time in the snow and was very frustrating until I realized I needed to dig through the settings to find a way to turn it off.

Using drive off assistant is helpful for that. It’s actually designed for that.

I still don’t know how to do it in my 25e without doing it through sport mode, all that happens then is the power is fed through too aggressively in that mode.

The snow has gone now but I wanted to turn it off in personal mode and feed the power in more progressively.

How do you do it?

Have you checked your manual? In the US version of the manual, it says you can only turn off DSC in sport mode. It also specifically recommends using drive-off support for optimum traction in snow.
