2023 X1 makes noise staring after a full stop, sometimes

My 2023 X1 sometimes, say 1 out of 20, makes a b-zh-zh-zh noise when it starts to go after a full stop. It's very inconsistent, I cannot predict when it will happen. It sounds similar to a release of a parking brake. My guess the transmission is choosing a gear, or it's some clutch operation. Maybe it depends in which gear the transmission was when the car stopped? The noise is not too loud but audible. I never hear gear changes when the car is moving. Also it seems to be unrelated to auto start-stop, I think it happens either way. And if the engine was stopped, it happens right after the engine starts.

Is that normal? Does anybody have the same problem?

Just wondering if you have the 2 recalls:
1. Intergrated Brake System
2. Reworking the connection between double clutch transmission and transfer box

That's a good point.

The double clutch recall has been done and made no difference.

The brake recall has not been done yet since they don't have parts. I can see how it can be related to the brakes because to noise always happens right after the brake is released.

Could it be the parking brake releasing?

I believe this noise is the clutch engaging, I hear a similar sound whenever I am at a full stop, then release the brake and you will hear the clutch engage. It isn’t the most pleasant sound but I don’t think there’s anything abnormal.

Hey, so lately when it gets cold, my brakes make this noise when I slow down. BMW says it's normal, something about needing to heat up, totally normal for their cars, they said. Weird thing is, it didn't do this the first year, and my X1 only has 9000 miles.

Mine does that too, for a few first stops. Then becomes normal as any other car. It does not matter if it's hot or cold outside. The dealer told me it's normal because of "performance brakes". Guess BMW is the only brand that makes performance brakes. Mazda certainly does not have this problem.

Anyways, it only lasts minutes in the beginning of the drive. I recently had a loaner X4 and it did exactly the same.
