I don't think people realize how cheap Tesla's are

Tesla Model 3: $250 a month for a lease
Cybertruck: $750 a month for a lease.

A new Toyota LandCruiser is 50% more to lease than a Cybertruck.

But thing is unless you're charging at home, there is no cost savings for power and there's the burden of waiting at every fill up.

As an A to B commuting car, electric is 100% the way to go; IF it where cheaper to purchase.
As an only car or multi use car, it's not the best choice for everyone.

Also, an i3 or i8 is cheaper than a Tesla.

A car with door handles that work in an emergency costs more money... wow.

I pretty much retired from selling BMWs over electric cars and BMW's inability to deliver in a reasonable time-frame. And that was after nearly 50-years representing BMW.

No way I'd ever do a Swastikar.

I've noticed the same. I spend more a month in gas than I would in a lease payment and charging (at home) combined. Strictly as a commuter, it is cheaper to operate than a paid-for ICE vehicle.

But insurance... That's where they get ya. Holy smokes it costs some coin to insure. A quick quote from my insurance agent would have me paying more a year to insure it than my M3 and Land Cruiser combined

My next car will probably be electric. But it will not be the science experiment that is a Tesla.

That's nuts. In Canada, for a similar 36 month lease of a Model 3, no money down, 10000 miles/year, its about $992 per month. Plus taxes no doubt.

What's that in US dollars at today's currency exchange rate, $1.68?

Seriously though, it's $699 USD as I write this.....

Odd - you sure that's a lease? I just went on there and put 90210 as the ZIP code and sure enough, its $250 with $3K down. If nothing down, it is $337/month for 36 months.

And that is not just FX. That's just stupid the difference by country.

My post was simply doing the currency conversion on your quoted Canadian loonies price, so that everyone is comparing apples to apples.

Also, using 90210 is a bad example, since the State of California probably has their own EV incentives packaged into that price. Try 29201, which is in a solidly anti-EV state.....
