It's depressing, isn't it?

Fantastic photos all around however, the Museum and Classic stops are where I'd be at. Thanks OP!

Thanks so much Mani! Such a great photo set - it’s like I was there too…

My favorite pics are from Group Classic — the 2002 TIK getting prime real estate between the V12 LMR and the Brabham BT52. Superb!

This looks amazing!!! I’m going at the end of May.

Any tips you have? I looked up all the different tour options. Which ones did you do? How long was it? I’m super excited.

I’m glad you had an amazing time and love all the photos you’re sharing!

That's brilliant, you will love it, I am sure!

For the BMW Welt and Museum, there are tour options available offered by BMW but I just go round myself as I can take as along as I want looking at each display. The tours are normally time restricted and I do not like to be rushed

BMW Welt and the Museum can both be done very easily in one day. The museum is closed on Mondays.

You can take a look here and here from my 2023 pics of the Welt and Museum for further inspiration.

I urge anyone planning on going to Munich to do the Plant Munich factory tour. It gets booked up months in advance but it is definitely worth it (you can try your luck on the day if there are any cancellations). It takes you very deep into the plant where you see pretty much everything and hear the thumping heart of the plant (the huge press machines) and witness the grand ballet of the robots.
The tour takes about 2 hours and there is a lot of walking / going up stairs, etc.
Note that photography is strictly prohibited and anyone caught taking a photo will result in the tour being terminated immediately.
The tour starts off in the Welt where you watch a couple of videos and hook up your ear piece so you can hear the guide during the tour. Your guide will then take you over to the plant and the tour starts at the top of the press shop.

As I mentioned earlier, the Group Classic collection hall is generally not open to the public so you are best to book in advance or make contact through your BMW Car Club.

If you have time, I also recommend a stop at Motorworld Munich for a good variety of other machines as it is nearby.

I hope that helps!

I’m really looking forward to it!!!!

Okay that’s good to know! I wasn’t sure if I could just wander around at my own pace and explore, or if it had to be guided.

I’m going to look into the Munich Plant Tour and see if I can book something now to make sure I can get a slot. I read that you can’t have cameras! I understand that. That’s wild they’ll end it soon, but makese sense.

Thank you very much for the detailed info! May DM you if I have anymore questions! Really appreciate it. I’m glad you had an awesome time. It looks like an awesome place. Kinda surreal to visit.

We were there in November and I really enjoyed the plant tour. I found that if you keep checking the ticket website, the tours appear to be all booked but open fairly frequently if you keep at it. I originally only had 3 tickets for one day but was able to get 5 together on the morning of the day we actually wanted to go.

Early on in the tour I noticed that there was one member of the group (dressed like any other tourist) but not paying attention to anything the guide was saying or even looking at what we were seeing. I pointed this out to my family members that this must be someone watching the tour for anyone taking pictures. It turns out that he left the tour about 3/4 of the way through and when the other people said we were missing someone, the guide said it was one of his colleagues so they are watching.

I thought the Welt was just ok but the museum was good although not nearly as good as the Porsche Museum or the absolutely amazing Mercedes Museum.

Thank you Mani59
Just a few weeks ago, I took some pics with my E34 in front of the Welt and Classic.

Thanks for sharing, thanks for the work. If I look on all those nice pictures, the car which had triggered me the most, was the black Z8. In my opinion, the best looking BMW of all time.

Great pics!

The Museum, while great cars no doubt, it all seems a bit cluttered. Just park next to each other, no real displays.

I wish that (a) we in the U.S. could still do Euro Delivery, and (b) that we could still buy 3 series wagons.

If we could, I would have done both.
